Vonnie Holliday says Haynesworth will have to work hard when he shows up

The impasse between the Redskins and defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth continues. And while we continue to think that the Redskins are only a torn ACL to a 4-3 defensive tackle with another team away from getting what they want in trade for Haynesworth, the Redskins continue to operate under the assumption that he’ll show up. Eventually.

When he does, it won’t be easy. The team’s newest defensive lineman, Vonnie Holliday, spoke Wednesday about the challenges Haynesworth will face.

“He’s a tremendous talent,” Holliday said in remarks distributed by the team. “He can play this game. The 3-4 defense is a lot different than a 4-3. So it is a matter of once he does get here, he’s going to have to really, really put in a lot of work. Like I said, a guy with that kind of talent, his size and quickness, he’s a guy that once he gets here it’s going to take a lot of work on his part to get caught up.”

Holliday’s remarks presume that Haynesworth eventually will show up. We’ll believe it when it happens.
