Hey Wishbone, You are the ignorant one. People in cars HAVE been killed by motorcycles hitting them. You can find pictures on the internet that show what can happen. Your comment that motorcycles are stupid shows just how stupid you are. You should keep your opinions to yourself. That way, no one would know just how much of a dumba*s you are.

I’ve been an AMA member for over 20 years, I read alot on thru there magazines and other cycle magazine about the accidents. There was a large upswing in the over 40 crowd buying motorcycles and jumping on them with out proper training and going out having accidents. This usally comes up when someone tries to ban sport bikes.
Either way it doesn’t matter you just have to be careful out there because people don’t look and don’t see cycles. I was almost hit today in a parking lot by someone backing out and I was driving a full size pickup.

Ever heard of the “just world fallacy”? It’s a classic form of irrational reasoning that leads people to leap to blaming victims in any tragedy.
We do it because, on some deep level, it makes us feel safer:”that guy was doing something stupid, therefore he brought it on himself, therefore something like this could NOT happen to me or the people we love.” (Remember when Elizabeth Smart was abducted from her own bedroom in her locked home? And people tried to blame her parents for putting her at risk — on the grounds that their bedroom wasn’t near enough to hers? It’s like that.)
For some reason this comes to mind when a man is tragically injury in a crash where HE HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY, and the response here is “he was an idiot.”

So you’re driving along in your Pinto, and some woman pulls out in front of you and you hit her. By your own logic, your Pinto is stupid and you are ignorant because someone else pulled out in front of you, and you hit them.
Sound about right?
What the f— difference does it make what kind of vehicle someone is driving? If you’re in the flow of traffic and someone blindly pulls out into that flow of traffic, resulting in a collision, guess who’s fault it really is 99% of the time? Take all the time you need to figure it out, you piece of shit.

Don’t see speeding being responsible for the crash if that actually happened. Mainly because there is no skid marks from the braking at a high speed. Also the bike is in the far lane, so either the car hit the bike on its side or the woman seriously whipped out of the complex. The fact that the road the brothers were traveling didn’t have a stop sign or light, they had the right of way and hence was the woman’s responsibility to look out for oncoming traffic.

@ndnjabali – funny joke there with the donor cycles. Actually, the ratio of drivers of cars and fatal injuries vs ratio of motorcyclists and fatal injuries shows the donors are in the four-wheel vehicles. We have shown a significant trend in decreasing motorcycle accidents and fatalities, almost as large as those leaps and bounds made by commercial truck driver. Car drivers, however, have shown an increase in injury and death over the last five years. The moron you see is in the mirror bud. Enjoy!

People in cars can be injured in accidents with bikes.
A co-worker of mine was hit by a car as a pedestrian and went through the windshield, severely injuring the driver. The driver and pedestrian both had massive head injuries.

Cause some old dude in a parking lot says they were speeding, doesn’t mean they were. Motorcycles always look and sound like they are going faster than they are. And calling Bikers idiots is a GROSS Generalization. Not everyone who rides a Cycle acts like Hells Angels.

Readingrugby, I am with you 100%. It goes both ways. Most motorcyclists that do not respect others around them likely will end up underneath a car. I take every precaution when riding. The difference between a motorcycle and a car is that it is almost guaranteed that at some point in a motorcyclist life, he or she WILL go down. Its the damn kids on the crotch rockets that give us a bad name!

I ride, and the most dangerous situations are cars pulling out of driveways and cars making a left turn in front of you.
People’s brains are thinking car, not motorcycle, and even though they see you, you don’t register on their brains and they drive right into your path.
