Sheriff investigating special treatment for Phillip Merling

Miami Dolphins defensive end Phillip Merling was arrested Thursday morning and accused of battering his pregnant girlfriend, and now the Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating special treatment that Merling was given when he was released from the county jail Thursday afternoon.

After Merling posted $15,000 bail and was released, deputies took him out a private exit rather than having him go through the standard procedure of going out the jail’s front door.

That is not something we do,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jim Leljedal told the Sun Sentinel.

Merling is participating in the Dolphins’ minicamp today.

“We did it to protect the public”, insisted the deputies. “It was either that or put a bag over his fat ugly head”.

She should abort the child & make a new one with someone better out of spite for that piece of shit. Whatever that kid would get genetically from Merling–the world doesn’t need more of.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it might have something to do with him being a kind-of celebrity and reporters being there. End of investigation. Can I get that tax payer money?????
I know the investigation is basically who made that call but really this is retarded.

I don’t like “special treatment”, but it’s a part of life, period. That being said, good grief, this is NOT a big deal! I’d have thought the Broward County Sheriff’s Department would have had way more important things to stick their noses into.

Pretty weaksauce “controversy” here. So they took the guy out the wrong door – find the jailer that did it and transfer him to bedpan duty on the Medical Cellblock.

Don’t worry about him, all is well, his GF will take him back and ask that no punishment should be on his dumb ass head, you can’t mess with a meal ticket. Bill
