Caldwell not sure when Wayne, Mathis, Bethea will show up

Three Indianapolis Colts Pro Bowlers are staying away from organized team activities this week, and Colts coach Jim Caldwell says he isn’t sure whether any of them will be there for the mandatory minicamp that starts Friday.

Wide receiver Reggie Wayne, defensive end Robert Mathis and safety Antoine Bethea were all absent again at today’s OTAs, although their three situations are different.

Wayne usually doesn’t show up until the workouts become mandatory. There’s no word on whether the case of the woman accused of stealing $93,000 from Wayne will affect his decision on whether or not to attend minicamp.

Mathis has been skipping the offseason program and reportedly wants to renegotiate his contract. He hasn’t indicated publicly whether he plans to show up for mandatory workouts.

Bethea is on the list of restricted free agents who still haven’t signed their one-year tender offers.

Wayne, Mathis and Bethea were all chosen to the Pro Bowl at the end of the 2009 season, although they sat out the game, along with all the other players on the two Super Bowl teams.
