Teammates say Roethlisberger is nervous but in good shape

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger won’t speak to the media on his first day back at practice with the team, but his teammates say he looked good, even if he was nervous about how things would go.

“Honestly, I could see a lot of anxiety -- a lot of it,” backup quarterback Dennis Dixon said. “But then again, once you get out there and play one play, it’s back to football.”

Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel said Roethlisberger has been working hard and “wants to be great this year.”

According to Steelers beat writer Jim Wexell, Roethlisberger is in much better shape than he was a couple months ago, but his passing looks “rusty.”
