Wow, I’m no Pats fan, but all these haters are blind to, or refuse to acknowledge they are the best ran franchise in the NFL.
As for the cheating thing, everyone did it, and everyone still does.
BB has just been a better coach than anyone else over the course of the last decade.
The Jets? please…
The Bills? Chile please
The Dolphins? well they are the only other contenders in this division.
Pats take it again in 2010.

Chris is not just wrong, he’s dishonest -
1 – Trent Dilfer has one ring; Brady has three.
2 – Karma is a myth. The Patriots won against the Raiders in 2001 because they earned it.
3 – Raiders – the dirtiest team in football who got all the penalties because they insisted on playing stupid football; and yet they benefitted more than most by bogus calls (roughing the passer, late hits not called, the deliberate fumble against the Chargers, etc.) Their 1998-2002 success came despite themselves – they had a coach who actually built a real roster and ownership destroyed it.
4 – There was never anything suspect about the Patriots success. Spygate was about a commissioner who didn’t read his own rulebook, persisted in being ignorant of it, governs by taking things personally, and thus smeared Belichick as a cheater when there was no cheating – Belicheck’s reading of the rule was the correct one. “No commissioner ever destroys evidence.” Oh yes they do – they destroy it when it can’t be secured, and the evidence he destroyed was leaked by his wife.
5 – There is no such thing as Karma. As for dark periods in league history, the success of the Raiders qualifies; the success of the Patriots remains among the league’s brightest periods.

Predictions -
1 – There will be no LA team – the market for one is not there, so Brady will not play in LA; the two most-rumored teams to move are the Jaguars and Vikings; Jacksonville will become a bi-city team (Orlando-Jax Jaguars) and the Vikings will get some kind of luxury box deal for their stadium.
2 – The Patriots will franchise Brady – there is no scenario in which they pay him the $20 million per year that’s rumored to be his asking price based on Peyton Manning’s pending new deal (which likely won’t get close to $20 million per year either because the sport has started a market correction) – and there is also no scenario short of severe injury and/or a massive deterioration of his game that they let him go.

Not a Pats fan, but Tom Brady will be just fine. He had that massive knee injury and it takes 2 years to come back, be at 100% and shake off any and all rust from being out for a whole season. Brady had last season, which was still a top 10 season but bad by his standards, to shake the rust and get in game shape. He will be hitting on all cylinders this season. Randy Moss is also in a contract season, so he will be motivated. When these 2 are on top of their game, there is no defense in the league that can stop them. This is not to mention that the Pats old defense is old no more; but is rather young and experienced now. The Pats are the class of the AFC in 2010 and I would put my money on them for SB champs this season. They play in a tough division, but where the other 2 over-hyped teams (Jets & Phins) are top-heavy on one side of the ball, the Pats are the most well-rounded team in the division, the conference, and possibly the NFL. Pats will run off a 12-4, 13-3 record this season, #1 seed (while the Free Agent Super Bowl Champ Jets will go 6-10 and miss the playoffs) and the Pats will have a rematch from 2007 against the Giants in the the 2010 Super Bowl.

1) Manning can never be the greatest. 1 SB win over Rex Grossman and that sorry bears team in the rain? HA! thats all you got for me? Trent Dilfer has the same amount of rings that Tom Brady does. And at the end of the day thats how you measure greatness, the rings…
2) Mo Lewis can lay out whoever, Enter Brady. No playoff win in the snow, you dont advance, its all good, that was karma for the roughing the passer BS call against New England from back in the day that saved us in that game, so we had that one coming back, but now its time to give a lil something your way sometime in the near future…
3) Swallow? ha, now i know you must rather get no action or have a butt-ugly girl to bring up a sexual reference in a football chat.

Wow, a whole lot of assumptions and speculation here by Silver – and even more in this comments section.
Most important fact overlooked is the 30% rule. Unless Brady is willing to pay for about $4 million, he needs to wait to have his contract extended.
Another thing is nobody knows what the cap will be in 2011 – or if there will be no salary cap. In a way it really makes sense for both sides to wait until after the CBA is done to work out a new deal. Patriots usually assign about 10-12% of the cap to the QB, they’ll probably do the same again.
Not sure why so many believe Brady is done. Some cite his age, but he’s two years younger than Manning – and nobody’s saying anything about him being finished. The guy threw for 4400 yards and 28 touchdowns, a TD/INT ratio of over 2:1, and a QB rating over 96; it’s a very short list of quarterbacks that had a better season than that and none of them were recovering from major knee surgery.
If you read the entire Kraft quote from the Boston Globe and not just the couple of sentences Silver used, it’s obvious he is intent on signing him to an extension. But Silver – who burnt his bridges with any access to Brady or the Pats in 2007 – got what he wanted: an article that created a lot of buzz and generated a ton of web hits to his employer’s site.

You seem to know as much about football as you do about basketball
Bradley had career averages of 8.1 points, 6.3 rebounds 2.5 blocks per game and no championship rings.
Bradley never did anything substantial in the NBA – you can’t compare that to Brady at all, even if you are citing the “years since returning from his injury”.
Do you actually know when Brady was injured? Or are you surprised that he’s yet to throw a TD in 2010 – which would be the 2nd year since returning from his injury?

Silver believes that Brady will remain in New England for the long haul, but Silver also throws out the tantalizing possibility of Brady playing for a team that moves to his home of L.A., or possibly playing for the team for which he rooted as a kid, the 49ers.
And if he ever becomes an unrestricted free agent, chances are that someone else will offer Brady a record-breaking deal. Though the Pats likely would try to match it, Brady could decide in the end that the Patriots had their chance to treat him properly, and that the team opted instead to force him to get through the 2010 season unscathed.

Brady has played in four super bowls, winning three of them and losing his last one, which would have given him a perfect season and legendary status.
He’s 32 years old, knowing Belicheck after this year, it’s time to start working on the future and they really pushed themselves back a year by letting Matt Cassell go.
32 is not old, but when a guy has won three supr bowls in the midst of his career and loses the last one, its hard to say he still has the fire in his belly.
I think they will hit the reset button on the QB position, I hate to say it – but if you don’t try to cut ties with him now, when will they?
When it’s another blown injury too late?
So I can understand the method behind the madness, if they are in no hurry to resign him.

Pats fans amuse me. Just because he at one point decided that he had enough money and would take less than his market value doesnt mean he will this time around. He did that BEFORE a major injury that could have ended his career. AND BEFORE he had two children and a wife to think about.
This is likely his last major contract and like many other players at this stage in their careers he will try to get all that he can get. Bank on it.

SeriousRadio, I’m far from a desperate Pats fan (I’m a hopeful Eagles fan actually), and I question any so-called expert that wants to make a twilight of his career statement about Brady. The only reason to say something like that at this point is because of his age, and Peyton is older than Brady. Any real expert wouldn’t make a rush judgment about a QB who is returning from an ACL injury. Add to that the fact that he was playing on a team whose O-line didn’t perform as well as it had in the past, and whose defense was nowhere near as good as it was in the past, and it would be foolish to expect Brady to do as well last year as he did before. Oh, and despite those changes, he still led his team to 11 wins and the division championship. That “analysis” sounds to me more like wishful thinking and/or an attempt by some “analysts” to get some attention. Maybe he is on the down swing, but nothing we’ve seen so far shows that.
