Beer Cheese Soup,
I couldn't have said it any better myself. I'm glad someone besides me knows how over rated Al Harris is and always has been. He's been burned in coverage so many times throughout his career, not just by great receivers, but below average receivers as well.
I don't wish injury on anyone, but this is a blessing in disguise. It was a happy day when Al was replaced last year by Williams. Please just retire.
And Viking fans,
If my comment bothers you so much, then GET OFF THE PACKER POST! You complain about certain packer fans on here invading your posts, but you're no better with your idiotic comments. You like your vikings, well then stick with reading your viking stories.
And how many times do you have to keep reliving your two wins against the packers and your one play away from the super bowl? How pathetic do you sound right now? It was one year of kicking our ass. Things can change quickly from year to year. Its usually back and forth every year with the two teams. When the packers sweep you, we don't brag like we've been dominating you for the past ten years. What will you have to say if the packers sweep you this upcoming year? Oh that's right, you'll have excuses like you always do. The ref's screwed you over, blah blah blah. You say packer fans are bad, but viking fans are more in denial than any fans throughout the country.
And Sand0,
Don't get so ahead of yourself. Your former #1 ranked run defense is old and not what they used to be, now that they can't use their roids anymore. Your #1 linebacker is coming off a major leg injury. Your #1 CB is a shell of himself. Your Safeties absolutely suck. Tell me again how the Packers offense won't be able to shred your defense just as easily as the Vikings offense did to our defense last year?

Yes I have, up until spring broke. Then I became very busy. And unlike you, I'm not pathetic enough to create an alter ego on a football blog comment board. I only post as Majik.
By the looks of the lack of intelligence of Green n' Gold, I'd say we've found one of your alter egos.

As a Vikings fan I have to say I'm licking my chops just a little bit. Their team was unable to contain the Vikes passing attack last season with Harris in so I like our chances better with him out.

As a Pack fan, I have to say I do too. Harris has seldom been anything but a liability in coverage.
He made a name for himself starting opposite Ahmad Carroll, who could make a lot of high school corners look like All-Pros. As soon as Woodson showed up, Harris did nothing but put the Giants in the Super Bowl.
Now he's in his mid-30's and coming off a major injury? For some reason, I don't see that as a recipe for improvement. T Williams was adequate last year. Harris should just hang it up before he lands in a wheelchair.

Emoney,
Posting idiotic crap in other people's threads is more of a Packer fan thing but good try.
Packers secondary will no longer be the strength of their defense. I think it will be fairly weak this season looking at who they have and their ages. If the Packers defense is going to be any good this season I'd think they have to overachieve in other areas to make up for the secondary regressing.
Linebackers and linemen essentially have to get to the QB quicker, hold down the run without safety help, etc. I don't think they can just put both corners on islands and focus on everything else. It will be different.

Majik! How do you feel about Rick Spielman's off season moves this year? Shouldn't you be throwing a fit about how the Vikings didn't sign any free agents? Those Bears sure made a splash, maybe you should jump ship again.
Oh sorry...I forgot. Childress and Vikes are doing what they should be doing. Allowing their quarterback to dictate when, where and how things run. After all, he's the greatest of all time and the Michael Jordan of football! HAHAHAHA!

You are dead wrong Einstein!! Wolf was hired in 1991 genius! Look it up!! He won his Super Bowl in his 6th season.

_______________
You're right, Wolf was hired in 1991. He was hired on Nov. 27, 1991, 12 games into the 1991 season. He didn't start making personnel moves until after the 1991 season.
This is why, when you stop and do the math of his 92-52 record, the 4-12 season of 1991 isn't included in there. His first season as active GM was 1992, which would make the Super Bowl winning 1996 season his 5th year, not his 6th. Perhaps you should take your own advice and look it up.

Kudo's to Harris for his rehab but there is absolutely no way he is coming back from an injury of that type...combined with his age...to be anywhere near effective. Fans (especially GB fans) will remain blind to the fact that both Harris and Woodson had to hold wr's on pretty much every play last year in order to defend them. Watch the tapes my friends, watch the tapes....then watch the tape of the packer/cardinal playoff game and you will see exactly what i am talking about becuz the cards ran countless slants and posts...nothing long to give them the chance to be held by harris and woodson. the cards prepared for that game extremely well, even though they don't have a defense worth a grain of salt. I know packer fans will be upset and point to woodson's stats from last year, which is relevant, but then watch HOW he achieved those stats.....by holding. Hey, the guy is 36 and human nature says he can't run with the young bucks anymore so you do what you have to do....illegal blocks and holding. I guarantee you he will be called more for it this year as coaches from every team the packers played last year have complained about it.
Excuse me what? Al Harris and woodson were holding in the playoff game? Harris was gone by then, and woodson was being run over by fitz on blatant offensive interference plays. Woodson is not 36, and your claims to him holding every play are completely false. You say "watch the tape" well I think you need to do that yourself.

Myasylum and BCS - I assume you want a return to the "good old days" when the Pack went to the Super Bowl every year. @ emoney- why would Viking fans need to bash the Packers in a packers thread? We went to overtime in the NFC championship game, and swept the Packers last year. Do you really think any of us really cares that much whether or not Al Harris comes back? I wish the guy well, and speedy recovery, and good luck... but aside from that, us Viking fans have no interest in this.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
You idiot... since when does zero interest = your dumb ass comment?
