Payton: Shockey did not suffer seizure

According to Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Saints coach Sean Payton confirmed Friday that tight end Jeremy Shockey did not suffer a seizure last Tuesday.

Shockey was hospitalized briefly after the incident, which occurred in the Saints’ weight room.  He was cleared to return to practice on Thursday.
Friday, Payton revealed that tests showed Shockey had low blood sugar and was suffering from dehydration.  He did faint, but did not have a seizure.
Shockey was held out of Friday’s practice due to a back injury, which is not believed to be serious.  The Saints called his absence precautionary.

  1. According to Payton, there’s a perfectly logical explanation for Shockey’s episode… “Jeremy broke into my office, stole my stolen stash of Vicodin, and overdosed.”

  2. I know people don’t like to see cross sports comments on here but why is it every time Shockey is taking to the hospital its dehydration, like every time Paul Pierce gets fouled and thrown to the ground it looks like someone has shot him from the stands? Could there be a conspiracy going on???Hmmmm

  3. You would think with all the penis he sucks he would be plenty hydrated.
Jeremy Shockey = Overrated sperm burper

  4. Wonder if Payton hit up Shockey for some vicodin when shockey came back from the hospital

  5. It’s interesting that he faints from dehydration the around the same time 2 years in a row. I’m guessing this clown is just at the same phase of his ‘offseason regiment’. Right?

He can faint every year at this time of the season so long as he continues catching TD’s in the Super Bowl each February.

  8. I am guessing he either has diabetes or he’s a drunk. Hmmm…I wonder which is more likely?

  9. Good to know it’s not a serious medical issue. He’s just a dainty little woman, that’s all.

  10. The coach didn’t take any Vicodin… and Bill Clinton didn’t have sex with that woman.

  11. Jealousy doesn’t look too good on you guys. It’s amazing how much hate you all have for winners. Whiny little sissies is what it sounds like to me.
    Get over it! Grow up!

  12. The weight room at the Saint’s training facility is too close to the showers!
    Diagnosis: Inadvertent exposure to shampoo.

Yea that’s it. They went 13 & 3 for the season and went through three hall of fame qb’s to win the Super Bowl. Go back to your shanty moron.

  14. I find it hard to believe that Shockey would be dehydrated while training at team-operated facilities. Honestly, they pay these guys millions. I’m sure they have gatorade and water EVERYWHERE. They probably even have hydration breaks. Oh, and this is 2 years in a row now. Something fishy bout dem saints.

I’ve heard lots of stories about him enjoying the nightlife a little too much, which is easy to do in New York and New Orleans. My money is on him being a drunk.
