Hospitalized in two consecutive years during the latter portion of May, Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey won’t say much about the most recent incident, which arose from seizure-like symptoms.
“It’s good to be back,” Shockey said Saturday afternoon, per the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “God bless that everything came back good news, and put that behind me. Now I can focus on getting in better shape, getting in football shape.”
Asked about the symptoms that resulted in hospitalization, Shockey referred to comments from coach Sean Payton. “I’m not a doctor,” Shockey said. “I think [Payton] did a good job of putting it in the media. If you want to know what it was, listen to his comments.”
Payton called it a “fainting episode” and blamed it on Shockey not being sufficiently hydrated or fed.
