Packers players frustrated by link to sexual assault

Members of the Green Bay Packers continued to distance themselves from the sexual assault allegations that have emerged regarding Brandon Underwood.

Teammates of Underwood told the Associated Press on Sunday they are frustrated that their names were linked in the incident.  Six players met with police: quarterback Matt Flynn guard Josh Sitton, fullback Korey
Hall, linebacker Brad Jones, linebacker Clay Matthews and safety Khalil Jones.  They were not suspects.

The players that spoke to the AP say the allegations leave a “black eye” because their names came out.  Earlier Sunday, we passed along an item that teammates said Underwood “has been a problem” since getting drafted.

Someone should explain to Underwood that he can’t put his hands all over the ladies like he does to opposing receivers. You can’t fault him too much though, he learned from Al Harris.

(So wiscdave doesn’t have to deal with anymore sand in his vagina here’s the real link: http://www.andrew-moravec.com/archives/2005_10.php. Not davey’s facebook page.)
    * Between 1986 and 1990, nine Vikings were arrested for drunken driving, and receiver Buster Rhymes was treated for cocaine dependency.
    * In 1988, citing “overwhelming negative response” from the public, the Vikings released convicted sex offender Mossy Cade.
    * In 1994, Joey Browner is charged with third-degree rape in Minneapolis. Charges are later dismissed.
    * In 1995, running back Keith Henderson pleaded guilty to three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
    * 1995, Star Minnesota Vikings quarterback Warren Moon is arrested in Houston and charged with misdemeanor assault after he slapped his wife, choking her “nearly to the point of unconsciousness.” Moon is later acquitted after his wife refuses to testify. A few months previously, Moon had been charged with sexual assault by a Vikings cheerleader in a case that was settled out of court.
    * That year, Moon allegedly struck his wife in the head with an open hand and choked her to the point where she almost passed out, according to police in Missouri City, Texas.
She did not press charges and, although the case went to trial anyway, Moon was found not guilty.
    * In 1995, the Star Tribune reported that the Vikings paid $150,000 to head off a sexual harassment suit against Vikings assistant coach Richard Solomon, coach Dennis Green’s closest friend on the staff.
    * In 1996, James Harris, Minnesota Vikings defensive end, pleads guilty to third-degree assault for beating his wife.
    * In 1999, safety Orlando Thomas was disciplined by the NFL after pleading no contest to the misdemeanor charge of simple battery on his wife.
    * In 2002, receiver Randy Moss knocked a traffic cop to the ground with his car, then was charged with drug possession. He later reached an out-of-court settlement with the officer.
    * In 2002, two women claimed to be sexually assaulted at the team’s Arctic Blast fundraiser.
    * In 2004, linebackers E.J. Henderson and Michael Nattiel and tight end Steve Farmer were arrested after officers said they saw the players assaulting a man outside the Tabu nightclub in Minneapolis.
    * In 2005, running back Onterrio Smith was suspended by the NFL for a year for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, two months after being caught at an airport with The Original Whizzinator, a kit designed to circumvent drug tests.
    * Also in 2005, coach Mike Tice was fined by the NFL for scalping Super Bowl tickets, and defensive tackle Kevin Williams was arrested on charges of domestic abuse.
    * Last week a contingent of Vikings chartered two boats, then allegedly engaged in such lascivious behavior that charter employees feared for their safety.
(this previous part was lifted from Jim Souhan’s article in the Star Tribune on 10/13/05)
The list continues, from my own recollection with documentation:
    * Wide receiver Kelly Campbell driving a stolen SUV high with a stolen and weapon, with 16 grams of marijuana
    Real Footbal 365.com
    * On Randy Moss’s bio on ESPN.com:
“30-day sentence for savagely kicking a high school classmate, a boot from Florida State for marijuana use, an arrest for roughing up his girlfriend.”
    * Daunte Culpepper’s SUV involved in drug arrest

    Union Eagle (local paper) report
Former running back Ted Brown was indicted by a Mille Lacs County grand jury in late 2003 on first-and third-degree criminal sexual conduct charges after an incident at a team function on Lake Mille Lacs. He remains free on bail.
Brown is charged in a February 2003 incident during the Vikings’ annual Arctic Blast event at Eddy’s Resort. Prosecutors allege that Brown forced sex on an intoxicated woman who was unable to consent.

    * Former Executive Mike Kelly getting a DUI going to bail out players at the Arctic Blast
    * Denny Green Sexual Harassment Allegations

exactly…you don’t know all of the facts…if any.
hilarious the way you packer fans basically say “oh yeah well the vikings had the love boat incident 5 YEARS AGO”. kind of childish right?
i used to deflect blame onto my little sister when i did something wrong too…when i was 10 years old.
difference is everything on the love boat was consensual. apparently “no” means “yes” in wisconsin.
wait til 2015 when a packer player does the same kinda thing and the cheeseheads still refer to the love boat after 10 years.

    So much for due process.
By the way, even though no one’s said it publicly (ya know, until now) it would seem your “teammates” … you know, the ones you were hanging out with during the off-season … believe that you’ve been a problem since you were drafted.
They’ve got your back … just like The Sisters had Andy’s back in Shawshank …

mix: entitled meatheads + suggestible, starry eyed harlots + booze/drugs + lawyers + greed = allegations + out of court settlements.
‘Consent’ doesn’t necessarily apply, whether it was given or not, because franchise reputations and bigger paychecks are at stake–for both ‘victim(s)’, defendant, and those the defendant represents. The cycle repeats itself.
When will we hear a story of a player refusing consent to a woman, then suing her for sexual assault?

The minute a couple of Packer players are exposed for what they are, the fans immediately start bringing up past Viking player mishaps. Thats sad. A rule for good character is to never make yourself look good by making others look bad. You guys need to realize what the NFL consists of. Its not choir boys and good samaritans. Its a lot of guys with freakish athletic ability and no common sense. Most of them dont graduate college or ever have any intention of graduating college from the minute they step into it. If not for their athletic skills, most wouldnt even GO to college and would wind up in jail or worse. Until the NFL starts kicking some of them out, it will never change. And what colleges should with every scholarship athlete who goes pro, is make them pay back the tuition in the form of a scholarship for some kid who really wants to go to college, but doesnt have the athletic ability to get a free ride…..Im rambling now, but you get the point.

Bravo on a job well done.

Revolution22 says “go join the Raiders”
Aren’t you a little outdated with that comment? How often do you hear of Raiders in trouble with the law? Move out of the 70’s and join us in the modern world where even the saintly Packers have run-ins with the law. Isn’t the pedophile Mark Chmura a radio personality in GB?

First of all reread my post dick. I am not defending the Packers or ripping the vikings. I mentioned I was a stockholder to show that I was not a viking “fan”.
BTW….get your facts straight genius. It IS voting stock. I vote on decisions every year, although my vote is very minute. I also get invited to the shareholders meeting every year. I bought two shares to pass down to my kids and to help with the improvements at Lambeau. Obviously some of you viking fans are sooo jealous that the Packer fans were afforded this opportunity AND that we will never move to L.A. Maybe you “fans” should each throw in a couple hundred bucks to build them a new stadium.
Never wanted to rip the vikings but hey when you talk out your ass you deserve to be ripped.

You can show you are a packer fan w/o mentioning you are a “stockholder”. You obviously wear it as a badge of honor,or it makes you feel important or something.
I am not jealous. If the Vikings move, I will continue to be a fan. I’m not from Minnesota, I live in Wisconsin. My rooting interests are not tied to the state i live in.
Voting stock? Yeah, you get to vote on what type of hot dogs to serve at Lambeau, right? Or some other such mundane thing.
One of my funniest memories concerning the Packers is when the Favre fiasco was going on, there were all these “stockholders” demanding to be heard , like they mean anything. That was high humor at it’s finest.
The stock was nothing more than a great marketing ploy. Way to cough up money for a piece of toilet paper.

The point is turd, every team has idiots on their roster.
    So, please STFU.

I won’t waste my time trying to educate you but I will tell you that I don’t live in Wisconsin. I am a Packer fan from 1000 miles away yet I still supported my team when there was a need.
The fact that you don’t care whether the vikings move or not shows that you are not really a fan….just a troll living in the underbelly of his mother’s trailor trying to stir shit up.
BTW…..you can reply without printing out the entire post that you are responding to…..well most people can…….anyway Keep replying but I am done reading your replies…….I may be bordering on child abuse if I keep responding. “A viking fan that lives in Wisconsin”…wow you have the best of both worlds now, Don’t you?

The point is he was with Green Bay before the assault. They had no way of knowing he was goig to assault a woman. Once he did they got rid of him. Then he served his sentence and Minnesota signed him knowing full well he was a rapist. They didn’t care.

    Super:
    Your comments border on lunacy.
That the Packers knew that Robinson had a drinking problem and still signed him after how many run ins with the law is about the same thing you are accusing the Vikings of doing with cade.
You sem to think its ok for the Packers and not for the Vikings.
By the way, the Lakers welcomed back a rapist to thier team too, and you continually cheer for him.

Nice insult by the way, moms trailer? never heard of that 1 before.
Its not that i dont care if they move, I will just continue being a fan of the team from a thousand miles away, just like you. How is that wrong?
My rooting interest isn’t going to change because they move.
How am I supposed to pay taxws for a new stadium when I live in Wisconsin.
I hope you have quit reading, you are an idiot that is just pissed off for getting called out for being an asshat and bragging about being a “stockholder”
Hey, do me a favor and vote for ball par franks this year, ok Mr Shareholder?

Bryant and lofton were never convicted. Cade was. Also, there is a big differance between DUI and viscous rape.

Whatever gets you to sleep at night.
It must be nice to live in a fairy tale world where you get to decide what is right and wrong.
You vilify Vikings players for things, but let your Packers off the hook.
If that were Kevin Garnett, instead of Kobe, youd be ripping him to shreds.
Obviously the packers thought Lofton did something wrong, they basically gave him to the Raiders.
OJ was aquitted too. The courts dont always get it right, especially with a jury trial.
But, then, I’m sure you are one of those conspiracy theorists that think OJ is innocent….
Yes, there is a big difference between rape and DUI. It’s just the fact that you equate GB with being class act, when in fact, they have had their share of turds like any other team.
Keep defending the BS super. You have to be the biggest Wisconsin sports homer to come down the pike in all of existence.
It’s painful to talk sports with you anymore.
You should stick talking about what you know best. Farting and shitting your pants.

I know.. The Packers really aren’t what they used to be, are they. Under Wolf, scum like Chmura and Cade were quickly ushered out the door.
Now, we have to suffer these criminals giving our beloved franchise a bad name just because they are untouchable Ted picks. Even Koren was brought to GB so Ted could give him another shot in an attempt to justify his wasting a first rounder on the drunk-driving idiot while with Seattle.
Who would have thought the Vikings would have ever been the less criminal, more talented team of the two? It is truly a sad era for the once-great Packers.
