Unnamed Packer likely will be named soon

We’ve caught wind of rumblings that the name of the unnamed Packers player accused by two women of sexual assault could soon be revealed.

At least one reader has tried to post the player’s name in the comments tonight — several times.  We’ve deleted the comments in question because we have no way of knowing whether it’s accurate.

Frankly, any of the Packers players who participated in the golf outing preceding the alleged assault who are not the unnamed player and who have wives and/or girlfriends should want the name to come out, so they can quit running from anyone who may or may not be chasing them with golf clubs.

UPDATE:  Soon is now.  The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the unnamed player is cornerback Brandon Underwood.

Cut him loose … sounds like the kid has been trouble since days one.
Underwood put his own teammates in a bad position with this whole deal.
He also made the head coach look like a fool for praising his added maturity this offseason.
    See ya later, Brandon !!

Look I don’t know who the guy is either but a quick check on the internet shows he’s a corner not a RB.

Let’s see… the head coach lauds my improvement, there’s a golden opportunity ahead for a roster spot, between holdouts and injuries the Packers need a young guy to establish himself,… so I go out and do a stupid-ass thing like pick up two skanks in a bar looking for a good time. WAKE THE F UP you stupid a hole!!!! I swear I am done with pro sports, these guys are complete morons.

I hardly ever comment on here but I feel sweet vindication for all of the brainless, flannel wearing Packer fan idiots that went into a feeding frenzy about the Love Boat incident a few years back. As a Vikings fan I find sweet savory satisfaction at your predicament. Also a bit of sympathy, because your precious Packers are a bunch of scum bags too. Now please kindly keep your uneducated mouths closed and think before you spew your nonsense to the world. Vikings are going 2-0 again on you this year douche bags, if you have enough of a team to even take the field after all of the indictments come down. You’re garbage, the Packers are garbage, your city is garbage.
    Peace in the Middle East.

Classic case of small market set up ; alledged victims are 30 and 33 years old; I doubt a 23 year old with the finances and future this kid has would have had to ‘assult’ some groupies; or ‘imports’
    as were calling them;
Green Bay in no way treats it’s players special; those redneck douche bag cops would love to bust a packer. Look at the troubles Nick barnett has had; despite the local law enforcement having it out for him he still stays out of trouble. Look up Club 54 in green bay if you doubt.

Maybe you should go back to being a wallflower dude. It’s better to keep quiet and have people think you a fool than to open your mouth (or type a post) and remove all doubt!
You can’t seriously be comparing a Packers’ third string cornerback’s private, yet ill-advised threesome with a couple of amateur, opportunistic bar whores to a boat load of starting vikings players cavorting with professional prostitutes on a public waterway with cameras clicking away!!!
Go back to school man, the eighth grade education you have is clearly not enough.

  39. MrHumble says: Jun 6, 2010 8:45 AM

Typical Packer fans…..without knowing the facts they automatically blame the women involved. A Packer fan would sell his wife to the players before risking harming the “team”. Rumor has it that Clay Matthews started it all by showing off his steroid enhanced boner….after that, things got outta control.

  40. JimmySmith says: Jun 6, 2010 8:48 AM

I would think that come Monday or Tuesday, the DA will make a determination based on all the facts (something that the Viking fans couldn’t be bothered with).
If charges are filed, at least the DA believes the girls (with the exception of the Duke Lacrosse case where the DA was trying to score political points and lost both the case and his job)
If there are no charges, then perhaps the DA believes Underwood’s version of the story.
I would think the players would be more cautious and nothing good really happens at 4 AM but then again, I didn’t make millions of dollars at age 23 so I can’t really relate to the temptations that he faced.

  41. MrHumble says: Jun 6, 2010 9:04 AM

My feeling is these NFL players all live a life of entitlement and think they can do anything with little or no consequences. But, at the same time, I do believe there are many, many women out there who are unscrupulous and are looking for money.
I said it before and I will say it again … Ben is an arrogant ass, but surely no rapist. I think you Packer fans may now find out what Steelers fans have been dealing with. Your ‘unnamed’ player is probably no rapist, but just another guy who thinks he can do as he pleases because of his NFL notoriety. Unfortunately, some lessons learned are awfully tough … and embarrassing.
    Good luck with that.

Also it is a well known “secret” in the Milwaukee Country Sheriff’s department that Ted Thompson was picked up in one of the country parks in 2006 soliciting a male prostitute. He was let go to as long as he never came back to save the name of the beloved Packer organization.

I got a lot of hate mail for my post. Somewhat surprised since I threw in a wish for peace in the middle east. I thought we could all get behind that one. Forget that the Packers organization somehow believes that the accomplishments of teams from long ago translates into present day capital. While Green Bay itself looks much like it did 40 years ago, I demand that you stop living in the past and root yourselves in today’s reality. The Vikings are the better team, with better players, a better coach, and a better front office. There isn’t much for you to be excited about I know so you cling to the past, I get it. Maybe a new Culver’s will open soon and distract you from the harsh reality that you live in Green Bay.

Great post JTO….no trash talkin, just stating the facts. Unfortunately, GB fans would sell their wives to the players before thinking their precious packers could do wrong. This issue isn’t about fans sticking up for their favorite teams, pro athletes do think that laws don’t apply to them and that their money can get them out of any legal situation. Like you, I have read more Packer fans post about other team’s issues while ignoring their own….(chamura, jolly, blackburn etc.etc.) than any other NFL fan. I use to think that the State of WI was rather progressive but Packer fans are out to prove otherwise.

Comparing one guy hooking up with two women to boats full of strippers, hookers, booze, probably drugs somewhere and sex everywhere is interesting, but you seem like someone with a lot of pent up frustration and anger so you must feel better taking personal shots at Packer fans and the city of Green Bay. Must be the result of being a Vikings fan. Never understood making it personal but seeing as though you insist, the fact that one of your posts came at 1:40 am on a weekend says a lot. Although I can’t blame you for venting, probably the only thing you ever get to say is “Paper or Plastic?” or “Welcome to Wal-Mart, do you need a cart.” Go Pack!

All fans of any team that take shots at another team when something like this surfaces look ridiculous. Let’s face it, we don’t know these athletes at all and every team probably has more than one athlete with questionable character that is going to get into trouble. I am a Packer fan and not going to cast stones on another team when one of its players does something dumb as Green Bay has had and probably has its share of incidents. From stories I’ve heard, Favre is very lucky to have dodged trouble and every team covers for its stars.
Let’s enjoy them as tremendous athletes who entertain us greatly and stop the holier than thou crap.

Sorry Eddie, the elite universities in the country give very little weight to SAT and ACT scores as it has been determined that it is not even close to a true picture of an individual’s academic/intellectual standing and is an obsolete measure of performance. Not surprising that Wisconsinites would still focus on something that has been determined obsolete for 2 decades.

Au contraire, Fan of Farvsballs. It is a well known secret in Wisconsin that you are the cross dressing would be tranny that Bret kept a private locker room for. From that so called “private” room, you performed various acts involving knee pads, lotions, vibrating devices, rubber hoses, rubber suits, rubber dolls, rubbers, and the entry of every conceivable orifice in your body (that eye socket’s gotta still smart). Then Ted arrived and revoked your locker room pass (refusing your offer of a hummer and skull combo), and you responded with the kind of hatred only a woman scorned can unleash.
You are truly one of the most bitter homos I have ever encountered. Stop blaming Ted. Bret could have taken you to New York. He dumped you, he’s committed to Deanna now. Ted just didn’t want you hanging around, hitting on the cleaning crew. Uh, why did they all assume Ben was guilty? And yet, still no forensic evidence and no way a 6’5” man could have sex with a girl sitting on a toilet, but yet guilty in the eyes of public opinion and harsh discipline by Goodell.
I feel sorry that people rush to judgment in most of these cases, but hey, this guy isn’t the first proclaimed guilty without evidence or charges; and a suspect story.
I knew this was going to happen though. Convict Ben on nothing but “she said – even though her story changed and there was no evidence”, and you were going to get a bunch of women coming out of the woodwork making claims. Way to encourage gold-digging and false accusations. And even if the guy does not go to jail, just the allegations are enough to ruin a person’s reputation.

How many times are you going to cheat on your wife and three children? that alone makes you even worse than Roethlisberger at least he was a single criminal. When is everyone going to wise up and stop supporting these teams. Stop going to the games and maybe they will start making these athlete’s pay for their criminal behavior.
