Johnny Jolly's trial starts on the first day of training camp

The good news for Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly?  It looks like his trial on drug-possession charges in Houston finally will start.

The bad news?  Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the process begins on the first day of his team’s training camp.

Jolly would face no fines or other potential consequences if he doesn’t sign his restricted free agent tender, which he has yet to accept.  But as Bedard points out, the Packers also can withdraw the tender.

A four-year veteran, Jolly has started every game in each of the past two seasons.

GOOD! Yet another distraction for the Packers to go along with Underwoods antics. Lets start a ticker on the right that counts how many more crimes will be committed by any member of the Green Bay Packers.

Im posting this one again because I want to…
I love it….bring on more negative news about the Packers. I love how defensive the Packer fans get when something wrong goes with their team. “No, it couldnt be true…we have 12 paper championships waaa waaa” “No, not us…look, the Vikings over there have Brett Favre waaa waa” “No way a Packer could do this…we have a 60,000 member season ticket waiting list waaaa waaaa”
Hilarious stuff Packer fans, keep it coming. Shows the character of their fan base. And, just like roaches, their players and fans scatter once the light is shown. Keep the comedy coming Packers…keep it coming!

I guess if he misses the season he’ll be the most un-jolliest Johnny out there.

Sorry guy, nice try. Keep trying to find another way to divert attention to the Packers. This isnt about me, its about you and your team.

After all the other delays in a trial date, I will only believe it when it actually starts. If it starts. Look for a plea bargain here.

Good thing the Vikings stink. Otherwise, this might be a problem for the Pack.

  12. purpleguy says: Jun 7, 2010 2:06 PM

With the trial pending why doesn’t he sign his tender already? Who’s his agent — Snoop Dog?

  13. Old School says: Jun 7, 2010 2:07 PM

Will the Packers be sending Mr Jolly a “Dear John” letter?

  14. lebowski says: Jun 7, 2010 2:09 PM

I was really surprised at how well Jolly played last year, maybe it was because of a contract year, but this clown was due to make some serious cash and blew it big time. Did you see the picture of him walking out of the courthouse? T-shirt and jeans, instead of a suit. Uh, you can afford to look presentable to the judge, moron.

  15. Ruvell100 says: Jun 7, 2010 2:11 PM

There are Vikings fans that are knowledgable and can always share some insight into the game of football with you, even if you don’t agree. They take shots at the Packers, which is fine, because of course I’ll take a shot back at the Vikings and Little Somalia.
And then there is Contra. No football knowledge. No fact base on which any of his claims are made. No wit. No sense of humor. The only guy I’ve ever heard say, “I’m a millionaire already and retiring at 32″ on a football message board. Your lonely life does not need to continue this way, Contra. The Remington 870 is calling. Do the right thing for your family and the world.

  16. Midwest1 says: Jun 7, 2010 2:18 PM

Ruvell100 you hit it right on the head. This is just not Contra, but a mess of people who have one objective which is to take a shot on a team that they are extremely jealous of. I think it is funny that a team that has a hometown Judge that basically gives 2 of the Vikes best players a free pass and somehow that is applauded by these Viking idiots. I know a lot of solid Vikes fans, and then there are idiots like Contra and Pervy Harvin. Your best bet is to just ignore them.

  17. Oz says: Jun 7, 2010 2:22 PM

    C*ntra-
So these must count as “paper championships” for these teams also?
    Super Bowl IV
    January 11, 1970
    Kansas City Chiefs 23
    Minnesota Vikings 7
    Super Bowl VIII
    January 13, 1974
    Miami Dolphins 24
    Minnesota Vikings 7
    Super Bowl IX
    January 12, 1975
    Pittsburgh Steelers 16
    Minnesota Vikings 6
    Super Bowl XI
    January 9, 1977
    Oakland Raiders 32
    Minnesota Vikings 14
UPDATE: The top shelf of Minnesota’s trophy case is still empty.

  18. Passrusher76 says: Jun 7, 2010 2:38 PM

It’s okay Johnny. I am sure there will be more Packers on trial to join you once the season begins.

  19. Ruvell100 says: Jun 7, 2010 2:56 PM

Now, Contra, let’s settle down. I’m not saying you should kill yourself, that’s rude. I’m just saying if I were you, I know what I would do.
And nothing has hit the fan in PackLand, me boy! Johnny Jolly has a trial and Brandon Underwood had sex with two chicks at the same time and will probably be cut? We have history, tradition, championships and an 81,000 person waiting list for season tickets. These cats are a blip on the radar screen.
What do the Vikings have other than inability and excuses?

  20. MrHumble says: Jun 7, 2010 3:03 PM

Packer fans claim that the Packers don’t want low-lifes on their team but it’s been 2+ years and Jolly still remains. What’s the over/under on how long it takes them to release Underwood? Contrary to packer fan’s “beliefs”, their team is no better than the Fins, Jets, Bengals, Vikings, Steelers or 26 other NFL teams in how they handle their “trash”. If a player can help the team they create a double standard of rules, if he is a backup etc. they make a big deal out of cutting the “misfits” but yet guys like Jolly (who has started every game for the last 2 years) remain. Save your rationalizing Packer fans, you’re no better than any other team’s fans and probably even worse when you take into consideration that other team’s fans have no problem ridiculing or lambasting their team for their actions whereas in Green Bay it would be heresey or an act of treason to ever say a negative word about the packers or a packer player. I guess when you are a bad city in a bad state with a bad football team, you pledge your allegiance (along with your wife, kids, girlfriend) to the Packers for they are God!

Why ignore when you can conquer? BTW Pervy doesn’t bother me. I can talk fishing and ball with him, even if he is one of the 60,000 people nationwide that admits to being a Viking fan.
Contra is a mentally weak, limp noodle of a young boy.

  22. packerhater28 says: Jun 7, 2010 3:26 PM

Just a normal day for the packers.Their players like their fans are just trash. They are the lowest form of life on the plant.

  23. Baron Von says: Jun 7, 2010 3:39 PM

Contra, quick question: How is this about Packer fans? Isn’t it about the two idiot players?
Also, I like how you generalize about a group of people (Packer fans) based on one person’s post taking a shot at you.

Some of you slanderers really display considerable ignorance.
This case is weak. It is a Texas case.
There was no harm to the public regardless of which of the 4 occupants in the vehicle had the cough syrup.
Codeine can be obtained over the counter in 19 states.
It is not banned by the NFL.
As much as some (fans of a team never to win a George Halas trophy) would want every NFL team in trouble so theirs would not look so immoral, there is nothing here.

Annoying yes, distraction no. A distraction would be if Aaron Rodgers was holding his SuperBowl caliber Packer team hostage by not committing to his team, teammates, and fans….all because his needs for one outweigh the needs of many. THAT would be a distraction. Do you know anyone that fits that description?

You are so obsessed with Favre.

It must suck to never post anything worth mentioning, then be reduced to saying well said about others posts, because you can’t come up with anything on your own.
Yes it is jealousy. You Packer turds have turned a Jolly post into something about Favre.
