Cowboys playing it safe with Dez Bryant’s hamstring

Cowboys rookie receiver Dez Bryant didn’t run at the scouting combine, citing a hamstring injury. More than three months later, a hamstring injury kept Bryant off the field at today’s organized team activities.

Bryant said the training staff checked him out and told him to take it easy.

They didn’t want to take any chances,’' Bryant said. “It’s not frustrating at all. I’m just following orders, and they wanted to hold me out until [Wednesday]. I feel like I’m picking up the offense.’'

Bryant had been working with the first-string offense in the early portion of practice before reporting tightness in his hamstring. Bryant has also had a twisted ankle, a minor hip injury and stomach issues during his brief time with the Cowboys.
