The Atlanta Falcons have signed their second pick in the 2009 NFL draft.
The Falcons have announced that Corey Peters, a defensive tackle from Kentucky, has signed. Peters was taken in the third round but was the Falcons’ second draft choice; Atlanta traded its second-round pick to Kansas City for tight end Tony Gonzalez.
Peters is a 6-foot-3, 300-pounder who was a three-year starter at Kentucky.
The Cleveland Browns were also known to be high on Peters; Browns boss Mike Holmgren noted that Peters was atop his team’s draft board late in the third round and it was only after the Falcons took Peters 83rd overall that Cleveland decided to take Colt McCoy 85th overall.

uuuhhh, you mean 2010!??!!?!?
DOH!
If I can recall correctly, but don’t blame me if I’m wrong because I was (the other person) with Golden Tate this weekend and and still nursing my donut hangover, but weren’t Corey Peters and Colt McCoy taken in the 2010 NFL Draft? C’mon man.
Dimitroff strikes again!
Corey Peters will get plenty of time when Jonathan Babineaux misses many games this year as suspension looms.
MDS is a petty little boy.
Every comment you block, I consider a victory.
I bet you still pee the bed MDS.
Finally you report on my Dirty Birds!
When are they going to start signing this year’s picks?
Another Atlanta Falcon BUST!
