Former NFL offensive lineman Jon Runyan, who has traded in football for politics, has scored his first victory in his new career.
Runyan has secured the Republican nomination for New Jersey’s Third Congressional district.
He’ll square off against incumbent Jon Adler in November.
Per the Associated Press, observers believe it could be one of the most expensive and competitive races this year.
With a strong anti-incumbent mood currently sweeping the country, we wouldn’t bet against Runyan, a long-time member of the Eagles. After microfracture surgery in 2009, Runyan signed with the Chargers during the season and retired after a playoff loss to the Jets.
