Don’t fret Viking fans. As with the former North Stars, and Lakers, once your team escapes the cold weather and moves to LA or Dallas, then the franchise can win a big one finally. The North Stars lost the North, and won a Stanley Cup within a couple years as the Dallas Stars.

MrHumble I’m sure you’re right. After a dozen years or so other teams have finally “caught on” to Woodson’s weakness. Especially if most of the rest of the preferred defensive backfield is out of the game and no offensive interferance is being called either. And Phreakin, Favre was never really a Packers guy or a Falcons guy or a Jets guy or a Vikings guy. He is a Favre guy first, second, third, and always.

Does anyone ever take in account that Revis is 24 and Woodson is 33
I am so tired of hearing Woodson didn’t earn Defensive Player of the Year…
His number speak for themselves!
Also Revis is working all recievers that are no longer in their prime

He got worked in the AFC Championship !!

Woodson might have 1 year left as a cornerback and maybe play 1 or 2 more year at safety? He’s a sure tackler and obviously an elite athlete. Of course, age can take away some abilities overnight and re-doing his contract will only put ideas into the other players heads.

They’ll probably throw a little more money his way for his production and possibly add another year to it. I wouldn’t look for anything earth shattering. He’s already making a lot. So extending him a year and giving him a signing bonus shouldn’t be too ridiculous. TT has the money no doubt. Its not like we use it in Free Agency (a modus operandi I support btw).

MrHumble – Did you watch the game against the Cardinals? If you did, you would have seen that the majority of the DB’s in that game won’t be the ones that are on the field this year.
Contra – You are kind of right when you say “shots at a Super Bowl” (and you haven’t even had one of those in a while) because that is all the Vikes have ever known. On the other hand, GB has 12 championships in their pocket. Enjoy your “shots”.

7.5M for a 34yr old db whose performance is dictated by his ability to hold wr’s is already too much to pay when the Pack only needs to teach their young db’s the art of holding wr’s. Give me Revis at 10M per year anytime, he was robbed of the Def. MVP last year. I point only to the Packer’s/Cards playoff game last year as to the quality of GB’s DB’s….with quick slants and routes down the middle of the field, Woodson was unable to establish contact (hold) the wr’s and you know 31 other teams have memorized that game film.
