Good for Hovan. We liked him here in Tampa, but it was obvious he was losing it. He was getting pushed around all over the place last year.

I remember the game where police escorted Hovan off the field afterwards because fans at Lambeau where ready to mob him. In the end one of the fans stood up and spit on him as he was entering the tunnel. It was great! Hovan was always running his mouth and he never did anything worth remembering (except get spit on). I am shocked he is still in the league. How many career sacks does he have? I can’t remember him even getting one.

If memory serves, there was nothing friendly about Favre and Hovan. I remember that Sunday night game in ’02. Favre was flipping him off from the opposite sideline and Hovan attempted to go after him after the game. Hovan never said anything about hurting him in a game though. Favre-Sapp was a friendly, respect-driven rivalry. Hovan wasn’t good enough to garner Favre’s respect at that time. He was just a mouth and Rivera and Wahle dominated one-on-one matchups with him.

So vikes fans… when Hovan was trying to generate a rivalry with Favre as a Packer, you all hoped he would take out Favre.

Hovan was good early. He’ll bounce from team to team for the rest of his career.One thing you can count on with Chris, he can still bring it with speed and power.
