Shawn Andrews doesn’t plan to block for Ahman Green

The Omaha Nighthawks picked up one former Pro Bowler on Wednesday in Ahman Green, but they are unlikely to add a second one anytime soon.

Guard Shawn Andrews, who was drafted by the Nighthawks, has no plans to join the UFL.

“His plan is to be a productive football player in 2010 in the National Football League,” agent Rich Moran told CSNPhilly.com.

Eagles guard Stacy Andrews says his brother is getting healthy. “No doubt [he’s coming back]. We talked about that. He said he’s feeling great.”

We continue to think that Shawn Andrews is the most intriguing unsigned player in football. He’s got plenty of baggage and injury concerns, but his talent is unquestioned.

In a world where Pacman Jones earns a third chance, Andrews is smart not to head to Omaha just yet.
