Why do people care so much? They did it last year, its nothing new. ITS BRETT FKN FAVRE. 20+ Year Veteran and you guys are saying he hasnt “earned” the right? What do you have to do to “earn” the right then?
His teammates/coaches/owner are ok with it and so are the fans, people are just mad because of how good Brett did last season are scared he might do the same to their team.

I never wrote off my home state or heritage, not even close. Choosing to follow the Vikings instead of the Packers makes me no less Irish, and no less of a Wisconsinite. And if you really want to question my spine, Monroe isn’t hard to find, and neither am I.
And by the way, my wife loves the shrine, probably about as much as your same sex life partner (not that there’s anything wrong with that) enjoys staring at that 1995 Packers Super Bowl trophy you claim exists.
And Super, why do you care if Favre skips camp, or if Brady and Manning do go? How does it affect you, or your team?

Why is it that the only ones on here spewing hate, and idiocy, about Favre missing camp are Packer fans? Vikings fans don’t care, and none of the other 30 teams’ fans really care either.

Being a Packer fan I’m inherently a better football than any other fan in the NFL. Because of my team’s history I automatically know more about football, am a more dedicated fan, and am a better overall person than all other NFL fans. Especially Viking fans. How could it even be possible for someone that likes to root for another team than the Green Bay Packers that they don’t know that they are not as good as me just because. Idiots!!!

I am not a typical Vikings fan. I don’t think there is any such thing. Some of us are realists (like me), others are negative all the time, some are positive (for inexplicable reasons) and a couple are approaching the obnoxiousness of the average Packer fan.
Nothing I said in my original post was wrong. You’ll note I didn’t blame to officiating, I blame the TEAM and the coach. IMO with as many turnovers as we had, we should have been shut out or had a score like the Cowpokes had against us the week before. I think it’s a tribute to Favre’s ability to make plays and use the tools around him that we took that game to overtime. If I were a Saints fan, I’d be embarrassed about that.

It’s funny how Viking fans go right to Favre when it comes to bringing the Packers back into a success franchise. Sorry but that man isn’t Favre but rather Ron Wolf. Wolf was the one who built the franchise into a Super Bowl winning team and he was also the one who completly resurrected Favre’s career. Had he not traded for Favre, Favre probably would of been stuck as a backup his entire career.
Typical Viking fan. Says things that they think is right when in reality, it’s completly wrong.

Thanks for proving my point. He lost ONE fumble, recovered his own on another, and the third was a miscommunication/failed handoff from Favre…who knows why? BTW, the Vikings ran for over 1000 yards less last year, just as an aside.

For a franchise known for suffering from chronic disappointment, you sure talk alot, young lady. Ok – I’ve been lurking around here for a while without commenting. Let me make some observations:

2) Brett Favre had surgery. Adrian Peterson did not. I can say as a life-long Vikings fan that I don’t see that Peterson has done enough to even merit his own day – let alone the 4th annual! – in his home town. If ANYONE has themselves as the #1 priority of the two, it’s PETERSON – not Favre.
3) Vikings will have another tremendous year with Favre at the helm. I’m predicting a three-peat of the division title. Sorry you whiney Packer fans. You’ll have to amuse yourself with highlights of Jared Allen planting AR’s dainty face in the turf over and over and over…
4) Lastly, Brett Favre did NOT cost us the Championship game. 3 fumbles by Peterson (who should get his damn @ss to camp btw), a fumble by Harvin and the interception all worked together to cost us the game. Not to mention an ATROCIOUS performance by the offensive line (McKinnie – I’m watching you) and a blundering 12 men on the field mistake by our illustrious head coach. For you STUPID Packer fans crowing about “BrINT” and the other dumb things you say – maybe this year you can actually learn how football is played instead of running around trumpeting what an awesome team you have and what a legacy and blah blah blah – when you haven’t won the division since 2007… and really haven’t done too much since the mid to late 90′s.

Thank God the Packer’s brass had the balls to stand up to this guy. In the end, we have a very good young team, a top 5 QB and an 81,000 person season ticket waiting list. We lost nothing.
I can’t remember, do the Vikings (or Minnesota in general) have a reputation for standing up for themselves? Maybe we can hear from the guy who posted about how Chicago and Milwaukee people drive up to Minnesota to pillage their pathetic welfare system and then drive home!

I know it is another generation but neither Bart Starr nor Johnny U. nor Len Dawson nor Dan Fouts nor any of a host of Hall of Fame qb’s would be given this kind of a deal from their respective teams nor would they ever have imagined even asking for such a sweet set-up.
Say what you want, but in pulling this crap year-after-year Favre has put his own personal wants and needs ahead of the rest of the team. No one player should ever put himself above the team. I don’t care how good they are or were.

The saying that keeps coming back to me is “There is no I in Team” That’s the bottom line here and let’s just face the fact that Favre has always been about Favre. The exceptions that are being made for Favre are exactly what keeps players fit and mentally prepared for the games. Anybody who knows any sports knows that joining a pro football team in August and skipping all mini camps and training camp is just plain stupid. I assure you, the players busting their asses in the July training camp are pissed that he doesn’t have to participate. They just aren’t talking about it because Chilly the idiot is telling them not to. Favre’s season last year only proved that he is still as reckless and for himself as he has always been. Yet another season ending needless interception to end a championship game. You just can’t ignore the many times this has happened from Favre trying to do it all himself. Favre is exactly where he needs to be, a team where there are no rules, boundaries or consideration for other team members. The Packer organization proved they just won’t tolerate this kind of behavior. The Green Bay Packer organization is now and has always been a class organization that does not let players run them. Ted Thompson knew exactly what he was doing, and I suspect there was a lot more going on but the Packers have too much class to disclose exactly what the diva was doing. As much as I don’t like the way Favre has acted, I really don’t want to see him seriously injured. I have a sick feeling they will be carrying him off the field this year. Exactly the way he does not want this to end. Without proper practice/training camps, Favre will not be ready to play an entire season. He made his bed now he has to lie in it. Go Packers and Rodgers!!!

When you run the team you can do anything that you want. farve is too big and important to practice with the little people on the team. Just remember that when you win it’s all farve and when you lose it’s someone else’s fault or it’s some mystery injury that farve has had but never told anyone about.

Favre is his own man, and that’s the problem. He plays a TEAM game. And yeah, he’s had a ton of success, but he didn’t do it all by himself. I seem to remember the Super Bowl he won had less to do with him and more to do with Reggie White and Desmond Howard.

Seems to me that Favre has talked exactly twice “TO” the media about his situation since Jan. and yet Florio and the boys at PFT can’t seem to report on it often enough ! I put the number of Favre stories since mid Jan. at close to 75.
Gee, one would almost think Florio and PFT have an “agenda” here or something … nahhhhhh, couldn’t be.
