Report: Vince Young suspected of assault

NFL_young5_250.jpgThe roller-coaster ride known as Vince Young’s NFL career continues.  Only days after his belated case for the 2005 Heisman Trophy received a huge boost, Young finds himself potentially in trouble with the law.

CBS 11 in Dallas reports that police suspect Young of assault in a strip-club incident that left a victim with a “bodily injury.”

Authorities have not issued an arrest warrant, but they have focused their attention on the Houston native who has gone from riches to rags to riches in his four-year NFL career.

Today’s lesson?  Maybe he should stick to shirtless all-male Tequila parties.

  1. Hello… NFL players… take a lesson from Underwood and Young … leave the strippers alone. Have your fun in the club but leave it in the club. Stay out of the private VIP rooms.

  2. Oh boy, here we go.
Expect a garbage Florio opinion article to reach the top of the ‘Most Commented’ list if this story verifies

  3. Bud Adams wanted Young in 06. Ralph Wilson wanted Marshawn Lynch in 07. Can these old guys pick ’em or what?

  4. I expect the Steelers to trade for him in minutes. He’ll fit right in with Roethlisberger and James Harrison. Maybe they can trade tips on how to best abuse a woman.

  5. Ah, the famous NFL immunity from prosecution clause kicks in again. Wonder what it feels like to behave in any boorish manner you want and to do ANYTHING in the world you want to anyone, and not have any consequences result from it? Wow! Must be nice. And then, have cops serve as you lackies, too! Damn, I love me some NFL!

  6. damnit, vince… don’t put yourself into those situations!
i hope the incident was instigated.

  7. I still don’t see the lure of strip clubs…especially for millionaire players. If I wanna sit around a bunch of sweaty horny dudes poppin stiffies in their pockets, ill go watch porn in my friend bert’s basement while his wife is out. Plus, we all know how people behave themselves at clubs…everyone is supremely hospitable and there isn’t a gun around for miles! pffffff

  8. if this is true will anybody be surprised,or if this is another TMZ sports website jumped the gun and got people to hate on another athlete, will anybody be surprised either, probably not.
please, athletes, stay away from scrip clubz, and remember, nothing good happens after 2am

  9. “Today’s lesson? Maybe he should stick to shirtless all-male Tequila parties.”
Like at your next shin-dig Flo?
    HA!

  10. first pacman now Vince. what goes on in those girlie bars that makes people so violent?

  11. There will soon reach a point where I will lose complete interest in the NFL out of frustration and disgust. It is quickly becoming just another corrupt, money grabbing corporation just like the all the others we love to hate. Nothing but spin doctors and lawyers covering up for the rich and the wealthy. Just like the BPs of the world, sh****g all over everything and calling it chocolate fudge.

  12. Make it rain Vince, next thing you know he’ll want an extension. I need that extra 4 mil. a year all in ones, ya dig!

  13. C’mon Florio…lets see a Browns’ story….nothing fires up this board like a piece about the Clowns and their BELOVED Art Modell.

  14. Wow, this is a bit of a surprise. Young appeared to have had a positive attitude adjustment last year. Regardless of whether or not someone else instigated the fight or was looking to make a quick buck, these players need to realize they can’t put themselves in situations like this – and if they do, they need to just swallow their pride and walk away. You’d think these guys would learn something from what has happened to Pacman Jones, Darrent Williams, Brandon Underwood, Ben Roethlisberger, etc. – but apparently they haven’t.

  15. I have no problem with guys fighting other guys. That stuff happens. It’s when huge, fugly QBs force their way onto young girls that really disgusts me. Fortunately, that kind of stuff only happens with guys from Pittsburgh, it seems.

I hear the local police have contacted the Patriots* for all video of the incident.

  17. I like tequila parties. I just have issues with the “all-male” and the “shirtless” parts. Yes, I’ve seen the photos. Yuckipoo.

  18. You know…I just WONDER when these knuckleheads will GET it…
They get paid MILLIONS of dollars to PLAY FOOTBALL (Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, WHATEVER)…and the first thing they wanna do is go to a stupid STRIP CLUB…or CLUB PERIOD so they can strut around flashing their wealth…and then they end up in trouble because they …in their so-called nobility of “keepin it real” and “givin back”, want to run back to the “hood” and hang out with the “homies” and play hollywood celebrity…
Yeah, it’s ramblin…but we all get it!
WHEN are THEY going to GET IT??? It’s not like we don’t SEE all the trouble out there that these guys get into when they start playing around. C’mon Vince, almost a YEAR ago, YOU were mourning your mentor…(remember Steve McNair???) Then we lost Chris Henry! SENSELESS DEATHS…for WHAT???? And there are COUNTLESS incidences of players getting in trouble because they can’t stop all of this childish girl chasing and club hopping where they’re constantly being taken advantage of and they’re too stupid to see it!!!
Sure…HAVE FUN…You’re SUPPOSED TO in life, but GROW UP for Pete’s Sake!

  19. Attention NFL players, Tiger Woods wanna be’s and famous guys in general….
If you want to pay for some p***y, hire an ESCORT!!!!
That fact that you are a “famous” person makes all the hoe’s not only see $$$$ when you walk in the club, but also so see “lawsuit”…which means even more $$$$
They only see $ when I walk in 😉

Yeah, because filming something from an illegal location is the same a beating a woman. You Steeler fans are something else. Filming = Bad. Rape = Ok. That makes a hell of a lot of sense.

  21. innocent until proven guilty and Florio seems to think Young’s guilty, i will laugh if we find out that he didnt do anything wrong, but these pro athletes NEED to stay out of strip clubs, it seems there’s always a report of a club fight and an NFL player is involved.

  22. Rags to Riches………and back to Rags.
What a dumbass……call Big Ben and ask how the clubbing has gone for him.

  23. I think Vince Young SUCKS as a QB (never started a season and thrown more TD’s than INT’s), but this is surprising and I hope it’s not true…

  24. Come on guys, leave Vince alone. You know how he gets when people start messing with him… “I hate him! I hate him! I hate him! “

  25. man…i really hope this doesn’t hurt his hall of fame chances. that would really suck….

  26. …now look what you’ve done – you’ve made him cry – dammit y’all…i hope kerry collins’ arm is warmed up…

  27. lot of haters out there, especially since they dont even know the facts! im shocked that nobody has mentioned his wonderlic score yet(which was by the way the same as dan mainos and terry bradshaws). ppl know adays r so jealous of athletes. why dont u haters just stop watchn football and just watch nascar and bowling.

  28. @stiller43
You aren’t comparing breaking a rule to breaking a law are you? I mean that would be stupid!
Assault, battery, rape, murder are crimes!
Trying to steal a signal stretches the gamesmanship rule maybe? The only differince between Football and Baseball, is they don’t like it when you use binnoculars instead of a video camera but, you knew that already.
However, Bens croonies are on duty 24/7 at the taxpayers conveinence! The cover up will be worse than the crime! Face it, your QB is a criminal. You got some wifebeaters too! You must be very proud? C-ya in Nov….

  29. ummm Club Onyx is not exactly an upscale strip club so I’m not surprised an assault took place. Just surprised it’s VY.

    Um……what was your “wonderlic” score?

  31. Guilty.
4-6 game suspension Goodell. I’m waiting. He can be sitting at home throughout the season along with the steroid Williams brothers and Brian Cushing, HGH Santana Moss, Vicodin abuser Sean Payton, Colt rapist Eric Foster, and the SEVEN Packers who raped two women.
Steeler fans are just laughing their ass off right now.

  32. Wut the f**k does Ben/Steelers have to do with this? Really B for Pres? Is that the best you got partner? Or maybe you jack daily with visions of you catching Ben’s man juice. Let it go!!!!!
If this is true then are we really surprised? I guess that oath he gave to the Mcnair boys was just talk…..

  33. So Belichick for President, just how did you determine that it was a women who was assaulted?

I am pointing out how well Vince Young would fit in with the Steeler Culture if he abuses women. Ben, James Harrison, Nate Washington, and Santonio Holmes are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I am sure there are more if I Google it.

  35. For those of you that actually believe that the NFL covers up for its players/owners, did the NFL start covering up for their players/owners when the Patriots had to cheat to win or when Ray Lewis murdered somebody or did it start before that? Are they covering for Reggie Wayne too? The “unnamed Packer” and his friends? It seems Ben and Vick were the unfortunate players to be made an example of.

  36. I forgot, one of the players from Cleveland took a loaded gun
into an airport, a federal offense. Not to mention the Bengals troubles over the last ten years.

  37. Roger to the rescue. Roger Goodell will soon ban strip clubs for all NFL player and coaches.

  38. @ DanRooney

    You sir are an idiot…….

  39. Well, 4-6 mandatory. Maybe he’ll get some slack cuz he’s a black QB. They get a few freebies.

  40. When are NFL players going to learn that they have a BIG bulls eye on their back at scrip clubs, bars, the streets ect….
Stay in the hell away from those places and shady people.

  41. It’s always someone….Pacman, Rapersburger, Underwood, McKinney V.Young…etc. etc……these guys don’t deserve a second chance. It’s not like they haven’t been warned (a thousand freakin times) but they just don’t “get it” when Goodell and their teams warn them of being in “the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people”…….they all think if it happens to them that it is their “first” time and they should get a free out of jail card. Suspend his sorry ass now, take hard action the first time and maybe it will start to sink in to the rest of these dudes who think laws and rules don’t apply to them becuz of their “celebrity status”.

Damn man, just how bad did Ben and the Steelers beat your team (if you even have a favorite team)??? You have a major hang-up dude. You need some help.

  43. Goodell set the ground rules when he suspended uncharged Ben. Now Vince must get the same treatment, there is proof he assulted someone.
Btw, these inconsistencies are ignored in the Ben witch hunt below:
“I was like, ‘Well, I need to go to the bathroom, let’s go to the bathroom.’ So I went to the bathroom”
    -Ben Roethlisberger’s accuser
But I thought Ben’s big mean body guard dragged her back there? Isn’t that what Miss Biancofiore said?
So now we have *four* different versions of how she got back there. One from the woman, and three from Miss Biancofiore.

  44. VY was in a fighting mood when he realized that he had already paid the $20 cover only to find out that naked chicks would be featured that evening and male night wasn’t until Tuesday.
