Doesn't surprise me, he is just another failed "Great Hope".
I heard how all you people were saying how he is so much better than Tavaris Jackson and now he can't even beat our a wide receiver.......... HA HA HA.
Sorry guys, like I have been saying............
There is a new breed of quarterbacks............... you just can't be a pocket, a.k.a. "I have no other talent" passer anymore.

Yeah...good call on that one buddy. Because it's not like all the best QB's in the NFL are all pocket passers....oh wait. They are.

@BlondBlueDevils:
-Who replaced Chad Pennington in Miami? Thigpen or Henne?
-Who replaced McNabb in Phily? Kolb or Vick?
-Who were the top 4 QB's in rushing yards?
1. Garrard 323
2. Rodgers 316
3. Young 281
4. Campbell 236
The NFL does not = Madden. A great pocket passer does not necessarily need to be anything else. A slow guy can still move quickly and efficiently in the pocket (Brady, Manning). The ability to scramble obviously makes Rodgers a better QB, but if he didn't scramble, the team might adjust its personnel. Grant and Jackson are backs efficient enough at pass catching (20 something each), but they're certainly not of a Marshall Faulk, 3rd-down-back. mold.
Brees averages about 35 yards rushing/season since 2005
Roethlisberger 3.1 yards/attempt for his career, averages about 100 yards rushing/season
E. Manning: 280 yards and 2.2 ypc throughout his 6 year career
P. Manning: 12 years, 704 yards rushing, 2.1/carry
Brady: 10 years, 577 yards rushing, 1.9/carry
I'd have to go back as far as Elway to find a scrambling QB who won a superbowl.
This is no knock on scrambling QBs, just a knock on the idea that it takes a mobile QB in this fictional "new age" of the NFL. The only "new age" of football in my opinion is the fluidity of defensive schemes on so many teams and the increase and necessity of some kind of pass-catching RB made popular by Faulk, Curtis Martin and Tiki Barber.

So, is Tarvaris Jackson the only QB on the roster that'll actually be on the roster comes regular season.... Gulp.
Yay....?
Rosenfels never was really given a fair chance I think, watch him get cut and sign with GB then Rodgers gets injured and Rosenfels plays better then Jackson if Favre goes down too. Irony.
Run!! get to the choppa!!!!!!

His world really turned upside down fast, but I also wonder if it does not say more that he should never have been signed? I am not qualified to judge Chilly's coaching, but I have really been impressed with the Vikings' front office decisions the past couple of years. I also think they have another potential gold mine with this year's draft.

Ya, we all know how well Col Klink can evaluate QB's, hell, he traded up into the second round to snare the future hall of famer, T Jack Off.
Some time after Klink convinced Ziggy that he actually had something to do with the development of Donovon McNabb, Klink started to believe his own bullshit. He thought he could mold and build his own QB but the proof on the field is missing so he pulled his pants all the way down to his ankles and gave away all control to sign the diva.
The fact that the Texans could hoodwink the Vikings out of a draft choice for Sage doesn't necessarily mean that the other 31 GM's are that stupid. So what if Joe Webb is ahead of Sage, the same could be said for another 100 no-name QB's aspiring to a NFL try out. The fact that its the Viking is the laughable part, Klink is hardly the person I would want making that call.

@aec4
Actually, I disagree. I think it says Chilly doesn't know if Favre is coming back.
So you have to evaluate this #3 guy now, or find another one.
I imagine if Favre doesn't come back, they want to know if this rook is worth a damn.
If Favre does come back, I think the kid gets cut. Practice squad? Hello?

So, what this tells us, is that Bradford Childress was so panicked last year that he signed the first POS quarterback he could find, knowing his team is worthless without a decent qb. Lucky bastard had Favre fall right into his lap, saving his job.

To me, it shows Chilly knows Favre is coming back.
If he thought for a second Favre may not come back, he'd want a proven #2, and not some guy who started at WR.

I'm convinced that Florio and team post lots of Vikings articles just to read the stupid, lame, and empty comments that the IMBECILES from GREEN BAY will post.
