The 49ers and the agent for sixth-round running back Anthony Dixon finished the relatively simple task of figuring out his rookie contract. (This whole slotting thing takes the fun away.)
Now the hard part comes for Dixon. The burly Mississippi State product has a golden chance to win the backup job behind Frank Gore, but a balky hamstring has kept him out of many OTAs.
The 49ers announced Dixon is under contract for the next four years. He’s the third 49ers draft pick to sign.
