Give Jets center Nick Mangold credit for raising interest in a possible holdout and subsequently his contract situation.
He declared last week he was 50-50 to show up for mandatory minicamp, which increased curiosity and forced us to follow up on Monday with his decision. As the headline indicates, Mangold came to work. Darrelle Revis also arrived, as expected.
We wrote on Sunday that Mangold was unlikely to earn a new contract before the season, like so many other young players. Drew Rosenhaus has a point; 2010 is a terrible time for NFL stars to be looking for big dollars.
