Gee… comments getting screened? Maybe… just maybe… it’s because they were just the typical Packer-hating/Viking-hating crap that stinks up every other comment sheet while having NOTHING to do with the article they’re attached to.
We don’t like each other. We already know that. Move on.
Bigby, Jolly and Williams aren’t exactly rocket surgeons. This isn’t a good year to be walking around with your nose out of joint. Why don’t their high-priced agents explain that to them?

Favre is a one of the all-time great QB’s. He wins a lot of regular season games, and had a resurgent year last year. He’s a no brainer first ballot HOF’er, but lets face it he hasn’t been a clutch playoff performer for 13 years. Viking fans are hoping like Packer fans did for all those years that maybe this year will be the year. Maybe it will, but I wouldn’t bet any money on it.

Never mind the fact that the reason you bring in a veteran QB like Favre is to NOT throw that pass in that situation, but it is Childress’ fault. Or was it the receivers fault? I can’t keep it straight anymore.
Did you all hear it was Mike McCarthey’s fault that Favre threw the ball to the only covered receiver on the field during OT of the 2007 NFC Championship Game? Forget the fact that it was a run play audibled into a pass by Favre. That makes no difference. It’s never Brett’s fault.

As soon as you see Packers or Vikings in the headline you just know its going to turn into a slander-fest between the two teams’ fanbase, and most of the comments have nothing to actually deal with the original post.

What are you Packer fans going to complain about during the offseason if the Vikings move? Surely you won’t care anymore about the Vikes, and the Bears haven’t nearly pissed off as many Packer-backers as the Vikings have. And some of you REALLY hate the Vikings
Afterall NO Viking fan will care about them if they leave Minnesota either, its really going to be a shame to lose this rivalry.

You have got to be kidding me right, the desperation that Vikings fans go to defend their almighty QB. Favre’s INT forced the game into overtime which LEAD the Saints to win the game in the end. Are you going to blame losing the coin toss on the refs too? The Vikings fumbled the ball 4 times in that game and still made it go into OT, there’s only so many chances a team can get.

Anyone who thinks Favre’s INT lost the NFC championship game for the Vikings either has no understanding of football or is purposefully ignoring the fact that five of Favre’s teammates fumbled the ball awayw, and at least two of those series were certain to have produced points, as the fumbles occurred inside the Saints’ 20 and 5 yard lines; Harvin’s fumble inside the Vikings’ own 20 gave NO their only TD of the second half. Take away any of those plays and the Vikings win, regardless of the INT. Let’s not forget Favre’s courageous play on a very badly injured ankle that was the product of a dirty hit.
And the ankle brings up a point I’ve not heard ANYONE talk about: Given the fact that a QB’s feet are very important to the mechanics of throwing, and that we hear all the time about the importance of planting the feet prior to a throw, why in the hell did Chilly call the play for Favre to roll out, when he KNEW Favre was playing on two (as we learned later) bum ankles?? It’s a risky play when the QB is healthy, given that the “safe” throwing zone is quite narrow; when a QB can’t properly run or plant his feet, it becomes an idiotic call – as we saw. Why not a quick slant? Would’ve kept the ball in the middle of the field, and Favre is among the best, if not THE best, at executing a slant.

I read a pointless comment on here from Contra about one minute ago. All of a sudden it disappeared. It looks like his comment got dropped from this site faster than a Viking fan jaw dropping open in disbelief, when Favre threw that game losing interception last year.
