Titans quarterback Vince Young received an assault citation for throwing a punch at a fellow patron of a Dallas strip club, and now he’s receiving criticism from one fellow NFL player: Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett.
Bennett is a well-known presence on YouTube and Twitter, and he’s never shy about expressing his opinions. He certainly wasn’t shy on Twitter Monday when referring to Young as “childish” and “unprofessional.”
“Mann I dunno wat 2 say abt VY that was childish & very unprofessional u cant do [expletive] like that when u play qb. He needs better ppl round him,” Bennett tweeted.
Bennett added, “Nothing really good happens at 3 am unless u n ur bedroom.”
Young reportedly went berserk at the strip club when someone flashed an
upside down “Hook ‘em Horns” gesture at Young in an attempt to show
disrespect to Texas. Bennett likely approves of that gesture; as the Dallas Morning News points out, the two were rivals when Young played at Texas and Bennett played at Texas A&M.
VY’s a dumb child (much like Martellus comes across), but he probably could care less what a backup TE has to say. Martellus should probably spend more time working on his game rather than posting on YouTube and being a Twit.
I like Bennett and think he has potential, but perhaps he’d be a better, more focussed player if he just concentrated on his own game.
Vince is how old again?? LMAO what an immature child and then Bud Adams would think he has the necessary leadership qualities to lead the titans. jeff fisher was right last year when he refused to play VY…..shows again, owners like bud adams, danny snyder, jerry the pimp jones etc. don’t know chit about running football teams
I have a feeling that Vince will be seeing even more upside down horns in the next year or so.

Theres no excuse for him getting in trouble in a strip club. Athletes need to remember theyre going to be targets, especially from certain kinds of people looking for attention and looking to sue first chance they get. We know this, and theres no reason they shouldnt. I know people have to live their lives but still. You cant be at places where there will be a shady crowd. Brady and Manning dont hang out in strip clubs. Neither does Adrian Peterson. why? Becuase they know chances are good someone there will be looking to bother them and its the wring kind of attention. A) Rapistberger and Pacman have shown you why not to put yourself into that situation.

C) Bennett isn’t going to get a rightful chance in Dallas and everyone posting here knows that. Simply put, Jones won’t allow competition for Jason Witten. Witten has been a strong face and presence of that franchise for many seasons now. When he is done or is hurt is the time Martellus will get an opportunity. Until that point, he is just a back up, regardless of his talent level (which in my opinion, he has the highest ceiling of any young TE in the NFL). If Dallas were a smarter franchise, they would have Miles Austin & Dez Bryant lined up wide, Bennett in the slot, and Witten on the line. More options for Romo and you will get plenty of production from that tandem.

Young is a very immature person, but guys need to stop pretending that these traits will make you a better player. Vince Young has been a brat since being recruited out of high school, even having his scholarship offer pulled by Oklahoma, so why would you think he’ll change at this point, with millions of dollars already in the bank? Or maybe you bought all that contrition nonsense when he took over last season.
His game improved last year because he started preparing better and didn’t have Norm Chow trying to force a square peg in a round hole this time around. But you keep believing that “maturity” is what makes a good NFL quarterback, lol.
Bennet gives good advice though because if the guy that he punched had shooters with him, we’d be discussing another tragic instance of NFL Superman being given his Kryptonite all over nothing. NFL players need to realize, those days of being the big man in town are over. When they’re taking chances being out with the general public, these guys don’t have a God complex about them and won’t hesitate to mix it up with them because there is already rampant jealousy about the salaries they make to begin with. When you’re one of the better paid players, why not bring the party to you? I’m sure there were a few Dallas ladies of the night willing to come entertain him and probably give him more than just a feel if he wanted, lol. In that scenario, it’s just him, whatever other guys he wants there, and the girls. Sounds like a better time to me.
