Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean reports that the Titans have agreed to terms with seventh-round rookies Marc Mariani and David Howard. While Wyatt doesn’t provide concrete details on terms of the agreements, the Titans typically sign their rookies for four years.
Mariani, a wide receiver out of Montana, has been “impressive so far in offseason workouts,” according to Wyatt. Mariani ran a 4.48 forty at his school’s Pro Day. He is behind Nate Washington, Justin Gage, Kenny Britt, Lavelle Hawkins, and more highly touted rookie Damian Williams on the Titans’ depth chart, however, and may be ticketed for the practice squad in his first season.
Howard, a defensive tackle out of Brown University, goes 6-foot-3 and 293 pounds. He bench pressed 225 pounds a whopping 39 times during pre-draft workouts. Like Mariani, Howard has his work cut out to make the 53-man roster at a deep position in Tennessee.
