The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to plow through their class of incoming rookies.
The team has announced that two of the team’s fifth-round picks have joined the team. They are offensive tackle Chris Scott and cornerback Crezdon Butler. Both signed three-year deals.
Neither pick represents the pick the Steelers received from the Jets for Santonio Holmes. That pick was sent to the Cardinals for cornerback Bryant McFadden. The Cards used it to pick Fordham quarterback John Skelton.
The Steelers have now signed eight of their 10 rookie draft picks.
Go Steelers.
Did they get rape insurance on these guys??? I’ve heard they have a problem with that in Pittsburgh…
Word out of camp is Butler is looking real nice so far. I’ll probably get bashed for saying it but the Steelers have great depth at the CB position.
Ike and McFadden teamed up for the #1 pass defense 2 seasons ago. Not a Willie Gay fan but if Keenan Lewis wasn’t injured he may have taken Gays spot by the end of last season. Joe Burnett looked good in limited action. If he would have caught the ball that bounced off of his chest it would have sealed the Raiders game. Hes in the right spots, and a pass deflection is better than a catch by the offense. Butler will add to the young guys they have jocking for a spot.
Now if only Taz can stay healthy!!
Still can’t believe we gave away “Tone” for a 5th round draft pick….geez, even if he is a pothead!
Actually Holmes was traded for a 5th round pick, and that pick was traded for Bryant McFadden and a 6th round pick that became WR Antonio Brown, who signed yesterday.
Holmes was our biggest play maker. Hopefully Wallace and his jet pack will make up for that loss.
I like Crezdon Butler, I think the kid can play. No love here for the Steelers, but I think they drafted very solid, not flashy and they will be again in the hunt for a playoff berth. You usually don’t keep the Steelers down for too long, their organization is run pretty well. I look forward to the matchups this year with the Ravens.

Kudos on being a rational Ravens fan. Our games are by far the ones I look forward to the most, and I hold a tremendous amount of respect for the Ravens organization. It is unfortunate that more of your fellow fans (and vice versa) cannot look at the rivalry as a positive and resort to bashing the other team on message boards.
Yeah, kudos to “love to Ravens” for being a rational adult. Then “brownsfn” shows up right on cue to prove his reputation of being a childish moron is well deserved.
Chicago’s the first to 100% but that’s easy to do when you don’t have a pick in the first 2 rounds. Highest drafted player to sign so far is Myron Lewis, the 67th pick of the draft.

i will not be the rational fan, have fun going 6-10
yeah Kudo’s to brownsfn then cutplax shows up on cue to prove his own reputation of being a asswipe is well deserved.
The only thing that will be raped this season is the Browns crap team by the Steelers AGAIN.
Alcohol is not a legit reason to run over and kill someone, Cleveland Stains fans.

Go Big Ben and Go STEELERS!!!!
@ steellintn,cutplax, and katmandu
It was really great knocking you guys out of the playoffs last year, your welcome…
By the way you will be fighting with the Browns this year for last place in the division so have fun…
Browns are on their way up…Steelers not so much…
Yes!!! Some viable Football news. I’ll be at St. Vincents to watch Practice next month. I’m hoping all of the Steelers draft Picks are signed before the start of Training Camp. @Stillerz, I’m hoping we see improvement in Ikes’ play. The return of McFadden will help. Lewis, and Burnett should take be taking a good step forward this Season. We have depth at the CB position, it’s about time somebody other than Troy steps up and makes plays too.
