Lions forfeit OTA days too

Add a fourth name to the OTA violations scoreboard.

The Lions forfeited their two final two organized team activities after violating the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement.

We learned Jaguars were similarly docked two days this morning, while the Raiders and Ravens received slaps on the wrist last week.

The impact of the lost days is debatable. Many teams only use 10-12 of the maximum 14 OTA practices anyhow.

The timing of all the reported violations is interesting, though. Florio railed for years that contact at non-contact practices ran rampant throughout the offseason. With the collective bargaining agreement hanging over the league, it appears players finally have started to report the violations.

The Lions reconvene for mandatory minicamp next Wednesday.
