Roethlisberger still has a long way to go on image issues

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been trying to rebuild his image, most recently via a string of local interviews.

But is it enough to repair his image?

PFTV considers the issue.

    Hits must be down.
Absolutely nothing new has happened on the BR front, so let’s create something.
Seriously people, let’s vote with our feet on this one. Walk away and resist the urge to start another post war over a nonsense posting about nothing. Maybe then this site will get serious about reporting current news and not just spewing out worthless articles for the sole purpose of generating hits.

oh for heaven’s sake. it’s going to take YEARS to repair his repuation. why is everybody harping on the fact he hasn’t done enough yet?! Of course not! this is the kind of thing where only time will tell if he’s changed and if the changes he makes are permanent. In the mean time, can we get a new story please? anything!?!

Yeah, that’s about how PFT is handling this story. Beating a dead horse until rigor mortis sets in.

Really? Are you serious about this post Mike? What does Ben have to do to regain his image? My assumption is basically people will think there is NOTHING he can do to regain his image. It will more than likely stick with him for life for those that have bitter issues. Cant wait to see some of the posts on this one; calling Ben a rapist etc etc.

    Really?
He hasn’t even served his suspension yet and his image should be improving? Only time and good behavior will *help* restore his image to some folks. With others, he’ll always be damned.
I still can’t believe the difference in punishments for Vick, whose crimes were against stupid dogs vs Rapistberger’s offense. Had he done what he did to my little sister, he might have ended up dead.

Beat a dead horse again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again…
You got on him for keeping quiet, you got on him when he suggested a large scale interview and now you get on him when he does local interviews.
Since you are perfect, Florio, what does Ben have to do to make you happy? Thats obviously what it will take for you to stop posting these redundant stories.
BTW, you sound like a PFT commentor…

It doesn’t matter what he does to rework his image. We’ve seen what he is. And with the rocks rolling around in that melon, he’ll do something else dumb soon enough. After all, he’s “too young” and “too dumb” to know better, he said so himself.

He was making great strides in his quest until the post-interview incident at KDKA TV channel 2.
At the buffet lunch in the green room they had for him Roethlisberger brought his own beer, repeatedly dragged his dick across the coldcuts and was trying to talk any female intern there to accompany him to any available mop-closet. Luckily, there were no moonlighting police officers/ lackeys there to help him.

Ray Lewis and Donte Stallworth each MURDERED someone. It doesn’t matter that it’s been since 2000 for Ray Ray. MUrder is murder and all Ben did was has sex with a drunk college student who regretted it b/c it made her look slutty. It’s not a crime, and that’s why Ben wasn’t even charged and also why the accuser withdrew her claim and asked the DA not to prosecute.

  39. SteelerfanagainwhenBenisgone says: Jun 18, 2010 7:40 PM

Since I happen to know the victim (remember, that is what the DA said of her) and her friends, I believe justice was not served in Milledgeville. The intial cop on the case was prejudiced (why he was forced to quit), subsequent cops on the case were inept (failed to immediately secure the area in the bar), the bar owner was covering his ass (mysteriously over-recorded tapes and bleach washed restroom) and the off-duty cops with Ben were corrupt (selective memory). It wasn’t the first time our imperfect legal system has failed, and it won’t be the last. Ben needs to go (to jail would be nice, but I already addressed why that won’t happen anytime soon). When he is gone, I will once again become a Steelers fan. Oh, one more thing, the victim (that word again) asked the DA not to prosecute because she just couldn’t stand the public embarassment (not many young or even older women could). Remember her request to the DA? It included that she still stood by everything she had said in her recorded statement recounting the ugly event.

A couple of local interviews does not a changed life make. This is going to be an ongoing process. People don’t change overnight. Ben has to change his perspective on life values. On people and what he wants out of his life. I still think he should marry Natalie Gulbis.

Natalie Gulbis would gladly marry Roethlisberger except for the fact that she finds him physically, intellectually and emotionally repulsive.

Unfortunately, IF Ben stays clean – and I think that’s a big IF since he is unwilling to change his lifestyle – this will be forgotten soon enough.
Look at Marv Albert – not a rapist but a real perv and back broadcasting in relatively short order.
Most Pittsburgh fans already could give a shit if their QB is a rapist as long as he can toss the rock.
It’s a problem with sports and society. We tend to let athletes get away with whatever they want as long as they perform.
If Ben were your big, drunk, loud, obnoxious neighbor – working the graveyard at 7-11 – you’d hate his guts and that would be WITHOUT him being a rapist (allegedly).

  47. pageant-judge says: Jun 19, 2010 5:18 PM

I recently saw 3 local interviews that Ben gave to KDKA and another TV station, I believe it was. He mentioned that he wanted to become a husband and father eventually and that some of his fan mail was even encouraging him to do that but Ben commented that God had to send the right person and it was something that could not be forced. I wonder if Ben is dating Natalie Gublis? I have heard that he still is and that he had ben spotted on more occasions than one in PA with Natalie. I wonder if Ben feels he can get married to Natalie and that would rebuild his reputation and image. Just a thought.
I personally don’t think that his image can totally be rebuilt due to the Reno, Nevada and GA case. I always thought that Andrea McNulty was a Golddigger in the Reno case but I read on the internet that not only did she not want to be pregnant by Ben but she even purchased the RU pill that gets read of pregnancy that you take the day after. If Andrea can prove that she might have a case. In fact, that might be the reason the Judge will not drop the civil suit. Ben wanted a change of venue but the judge denied that.
Ben also said in one of those interviews that I saw that he was chomping at the bit to tell what happened in the GA Case but he cannot do that because the Reno Case is still hanging.
I wonder if the girl in the GA case name was Amber Hanley? If you check out http://www.twitter.com there is an Amber Hanley from Middledgeville, GA that is quite attractive. However I also heard that Amber Hanley was there that night but she was not the accuser. Does anyone know?
It’s going to be a Long Difficult Appologetic Year for Ben and the Steelers, but Good Luck Guys! I wish you the best.

His image will never be what it was before both sets of allegations. See Kobe Bryant. His image is still not what it was before his Criminal Case. Public Perception will always be the judge of any public figure.
