Thank you bbq! And in case you didn't get it before here it is again, spoke like a true prodigy. Put this in your pipe and smoke it! Non-Chief believers!
Well, the Chiefs didn't lose 16 games last season. They were 4-12, which is twice as many games in the W column than the year before.
Look, I'm not sold on Cassel either. But we're paying the guy a lot of money. I'm sure if he really doesn't work out this year, we'll look in another direction.
The Chiefs have vastly improved the team this year, largely through the draft. Yes, I believe that. 4-6 solid starters came out of this years draft for the Chiefs, including Dexter McCluster and Tony Moeaki, who should both be forces as passing targets if they can stay healthy. The addition of Thomas Jones to accompany Jamaal Charles gave us a backfield to be feared, which should take some pressure off the passing game.
The Chiefs have had what amounts to 100% participation in mini camps and OTAs this year. The only missing name has been Jarrad Page, who is not technically under contract and who reportedly requested a trade. I don't really count him as part of the team anymore anyway.
Who cares if Haley fired Chan? They're ideas of offense clashed, it wouldn't have worked. We have Charlie-freakin'-Wei s now. This guy has Super Bowl rings to prove that he's a good offensive coordinator. Ditto Romeo on the other side of the ball.
Everyone in the organization is confident and focused on winning.
Just because we didn't turn a 2-14 team into playoff contenders overnight, don't you think it's a tad early to throw the current regime under the bus? If we make a suprise run this year, I want you to remember your comments and as far as I'm concerned you're not allowed to be happy about it.
Some of us believe, and we're the ones who will be rewarded when the Chiefs find success. You might as well become a Cowboys fan or something.

then why the hell didnt the Chiefs made any big moves in FA. last yr and this yr.
Everyone knows they have the money to do it, since they rarely use it.. but they always go ahead and try to save money and in result they didnt bring any help to him.. or fix the Oline.
Last yr, taking a DT from LSU that early was a real neck breaker, you couldve had a Franchise LT or WR in Crabtree for your QB but i guess not..
always wanting the 3-4th round WRs to step up.. same old chiefs.

"Haley thinks Cassel's problem was the players around him"
********************
You must really hate both of the guys because you really threw out a lot of BS.
1. It was 5 fewer passes.
2. In 2008, KC had Gonzales; in 2009 - not so much. The TEs (read TG) had 5 drops in 159 passes (3.14%) in 2008 but in 2009, it was 9 drops in 76 passes (11.84%).
3. In 2008, WRs had 21 drops in 278 passes (7.55%) and in 2009, it was 32 in 314% (10.14%). Contrary to your assertion, there weren't that many WRs from 2008 back in 2009. Of the ones that were there, Bowe's numbers went from 10.32% to 10.84% (not a significant increase) while Bradley's went from 6.78 to 16.33. BTW, Bowe's pct of passes caught went from 55.5 to 56.4 while Bradley's went from 50.8 to 49.0.
On the other hand, Chris Chambers' numbers improved significantly after he left SD and he only had 1 drop (1.69%) in his 9 games and his % went from 34.6 to 61.0.
3. Without a reliable TE, Cassel was forced to throw to a group of receivers who had been helped by the presence of TG and they were exposed for what they were. You can praise Thigpen all you want but 10 TD passes went to TG in 2008 and you'd be hard pressed to say with a straight face that he would have done the same thing with this group of TEs.

You have two ends of the spectrum: Del Rio, who will throw his decent QB under the bus basically every season, and then Haley, who threw the entire team under the bus for one mediocre QB. Cassell was a good game manager who was put in the perfect system to succeed with the Pats. Their receivers were incredible. After trading Tony G last year, the Chiefs essentially set themselves up for failure. If Haley is blaming his recieverws for not being more like Moss and Welker, then he's a moron. I saw this coming the minute the Chiefs traded for him. Also, Thigpen was awesome; they should have kept him. Maybe Haley is just trying to bail out Scott P. by blaming the Carl Peterson/Herm Edwards regime's draft picks

Well, the Chiefs didn’t lose 16 games last season. They were 4-12, which is twice as many games in the W column than the year before.
Look, I’m not sold on Cassel either. But we’re paying the guy a lot of money. I’m sure if he really doesn’t work out this year, we’ll look in another direction.
I don’t really count him as part of the team anymore anyway.
Who cares if Haley fired Chan? They’re ideas of offense clashed, it wouldn’t have worked. We have Charlie-freakin’-Weis now. This guy has Super Bowl rings to prove that he’s a good offensive coordinator. Ditto Romeo on the other side of the ball.
Everyone in the organization is confident and focused on winning.

"Haley thinks Cassel's problem was the players around him"
- I and most Chiefs fans think hailme's problem was the coaching. Q: what former NFL wr coach & 1st time Head Coach in '09 was also in charge of coaching the Chiefs wrs hands on? Yup the ol buckpasser himself orchestrated (known in the parlance as micro-managed) KCs wideouts and then replaced the (figurehead) wr coach with a former nfl fb, then he replaced wrs left & right, then he yelled alot and then... well, then he ran out of people to yell/point fingers at. Now, aft a refreshing off-season of finger strengthening & vocal chord r & r &, he's baaaaaaaaaaack!
"We had 50-plus drops last season."
- yes - the most in franchise history DESPITE throwing the ball fewer times in 2009 than the Chiefs did in 2008 & with the same starters at wr to start the season BUT different qb; hmm...
"If those don't happen"
- if "ifs & buts were but candies & nuts" x32 NFL teams. Memo to todd: you're a bad coach - yell at yourself for those 16 losses in '09, worst 1st year in franchise history - then catch a clue.
"people would look at Cassel differently" (Haley told ESPN.com)"
- Fact - Tyler Thigpen had a better season '08 than ca$$el did '09 - more td passes, less ints, less sacks & a higher qb rating. That's Tyler 'I Never Started A Single Game my NFL career' Thigpen - future Hall of Famer. TT also had a worse offensive line, plodding LJ, no Chambers (TT did have some guy named Gonzalez at te, but hailme traded him (thanks offensive guru) - oh, but Tyler 'did' have Chan Gailey... you fired Chan, remember hailme? Yup, you 'member.
