Redskins reel in Ramzee Robinson via waivers

The Washington Redskins continue to demonstrate the kind of work ethic that requires the media to constantly be ready for the next move to come.

On Easter Sunday, they traded for quarterback Donovan McNabb.  On a beautiful Saturday afternoon in June, they traded for tackle Jammal Brown.

Now, on Father’s Day, the Redskins have announced the arrival of cornerback Ramzee Robinson, whom they acquired on waivers from the Browns.

The Redskins also announced the release of defensive lineman Greg Peterson and cornerback Melvin Stephenson.

I’m not trying to crack a dumb joke or anything but…
    Who?

His only notable accomplishment is being drafted last in the 2007 draft making him Mr. Irrelevant. He’s not going to help the Redskins other than filling a roster spot. There’s nothing more to see here, please move on.

He’ll probably compete with Justin Tryon and Kevin Barnes for the 4th and 5th roster spots at CB. Potentially solid depth guy, but a tad limited. that said, with Hall/Rogers/Buchanon, the redskins were looking more for depth than anything.
A bit surprised at the release of Greg Peterson, but guess Haslett didn’t see enough to warrant him sticking around. Had always wondered if Greg was a better fit as a 5-technique than the 3-technique role that the Bucs had hoped he would develop into.

The key phrase – “acquired on waivers from the Browns.”

I love the phrasing of the subject line… “Redskins reel in”, only to be followed by someone who probably won’t make their team.

Training camp fodder. If he ever sees the field in a meaningful game, fans should already be curled up in the fetal position on the floor.

if i know redskins fans, and i do, this guy is one of the final pieces that are going to bring them that elusive super bowl trophy. doesnt matter that we’ve been hearing that same statement for oh about the past 15 years.

Uh…. I love the Browns more than the fanatical fan…. Who the hell is Ramzee Robinson? That said, WTF makes this a special pickup that keeps anyone doing anything. I will be honest with you… The only move the Skins made, in my opinion, that wasn’t dogshit was picking up Jamal Brown for cheap. Should be a nice add to the RT position. Other than that, they get an unproven LT, a 50 yr old QB who has never won anything other than a crying contest, and a HC that hasn’t done shit since Elway!
Congrats on adding that Ramzee guy!

No one thinks this Ramzee guy will even make the team.
The Redskins have done a lot of offseason moves which were good. They beefed up the defensive line adding Adam Carriker, Vonnie Holliday and Maake Kemoatu. They also added Phillip Buchanan as the 3rd corner. On offense they added Donovan Mcnabb who is 33 not 50. They added Larry Johnson and Willie Parker as Clinton portis’s back-up’s. They drafted Trent Williams the 4th overall pick who will be a starting left tackle. They signed Artis Hicks in free agency who will likely be a right guard and they just signed Brown. I hardly think they have made minor moves that are crap. Also Mike Shanahan has 3 superbowl rings. His record is 146 wins – 95 losses he is 8-5 in the post season.

You mean the former Mr. Irrelevant? And that’s the last time he heard his name called in any special way whatsoever.
We all know you’re a Redskins fan, Florio, but you’d have to be retarded to even mention this signing, not to mention the fact that you think it’s a big deal.
The Redskins will lose just the same this year.
In unrelated news, the West Virginia Mountaineers will never be as good as they were with Pat White and Steve Slaton. Get over, Faggio.
