Packers sign three players

We’d like to thank the Green Bay Packers for simultaneously signing three rookies, doing their part in the effort to save the rumor mill page from clutter.

Late-round picks guard/tackle Marshall Newhouse, running back James Starks and defensive end C.J. Wilson are all aboard.

Starks has received plenty of attention because he plays at a relatively thin position for the Packers.  He will have to prove he can stay healthy after missing all of his senior season with a shoulder injury.

Pointless blog…..now let’s watch all of the retards come out to play.
    ie: viking “fans”

We’re not thin at RB. It’s just that we’ve got a bunch of dudes who are all extremely similar. I actually like Jackson better than Grant. Jackson can cut on a dime without having to stop first, then start again. Also, Grant (like our Oline) waits until about week 10 to really get that extra jet in his step.
Starks and Quinn Porter can actually (gasp) CATCH the ball out of the backfield. Without batting it up in the air first.
They also have enough speed to get to the corner. And dare I say it? Can make a guy miss!

When the headline is something like this.. You can tell there is nothing or anyone significant to read about here..

    James Starks is the TRUTH!

Ted Thompson is too cheap to sign any free agents but he loves his draft picks. I mean literally. He insists on showering with them and running his fingers thru their hair.

PackFansLikeSheep… You just might be the most deranged person on this site. You need to be wrapped up in a straight jacket & locked away from society.
By the way, can you elaborate as to why Packer fans are like sheep?

    Newhouse.
    Any relation?

  9. mission says: Jun 23, 2010 7:37 PM

*IF* Starks can stay healthy he’ll be contributing regularly by mid season.

Polish Rifle you blundering idiot, it’s not that YOU’RE LIKE SHEEP (although you are actually, blindly following an incompetent polesmoking g.m. who has managed 1 playoff win in 5 years), it’s that YOU LIKE SHEEP (as in you like to mate with them and other farm animals).

” Polish Rifle you blundering idiot, it’s not that YOU’RE LIKE SHEEP (although you are actually, blindly following an incompetent polesmoking g.m. who has managed 1 playoff win in 5 years), ”
This is actually the answer I expected from a such a simpleton like you. How exactly do you not ‘blindly’ follow the teams of your choice. You do realize that you have ABSOLUTELY NO SAY in how things are run, don’t you? Do you realize how stupid you sound when you pretend to think that fans somehow have control over how teams are ran? Snap into reality, for the sake of the people having to read your uninformed garbage, seriously.
One more thing.. You do know that the Vikings have only played in 3 playoffs games in that same time span as the Packers, OOPS! Also, in that time span they have the same amount of wins, OOPS! Talk about ‘BLUNDERING IDIOT’.

^ Kinda don’t recall the 70’s steelers or 80’s 49ers or the 90’s cowboys and 2000’s patriots relying on free agents….but then again, I could be a sheep that likes a dynasty building formula.

Not Ted’s fault that Brett likes to throw interceptions, or that Al Harris suffered a season ending knee injury.

You friggin dumbass. There was no free agency in the 70’s andearly to mid 80’s!! Plan B( a joke) started in the late 80’s. I believe that FA started in 93, and yes the Cowboys used it…Think Deion etc. The Patriots used it too. That post of yours was on big flaming pile of shit, you know it?

This Starks kid looks pretty good, and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders as well. Could be a real diamond-in-the-rough.

Ahh, the “diamond-in-the-rough” type players. Good, cheap talent. Lucky finds for most franchises. Essentials for the current Packers.
Like any Ted roster, this team has a lot of holes in it. Far too many to compete a high level. They had the easiest schedule in football last year and only managed 11-5. The schedule isn’t that easy this year, and the roster hasn’t improved.
How do you expect will things be better? Is Starks going to be the difference between a typical Ted 6-10 season and winning it all? How about our new backup LT or that 3rd round DE?
See, a good GM would have taken the time to analyze weaknesses on the team and looked for ways to fill them. A good GM would listen to the advice of the coaches he hired, and a good GM would use all available avenues for improvement.
Obviously, Ted has done none of those things. Which is why the Packers will never compete for a Super Bowl until Ted is gone.

Packers 2010 SOS is tied for 22nd. Doesn’t sound so bad on paer. May be irrelevant (see link.)
    http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80fbaa5d&template=without-video-with-comments&confirm=true
    And from 2009 SOS…
“The Vikes’ schedule ranks as one of the easiest in the league, but matchups with the Cardinals, Steelers and Panthers on the road will determine if the team is ready to move to the ranks of the elite.”…Note: All losses.

It’s obvious that Beer Cheese Soup is nothing but a troll of a rival team’s fan base or a PFT employee trying to drum up hits. He thinks he is fooling everyone with the ‘we’ speak, but it’s obvious with his relentlessly redundant anti-Pack talk that he isn’t.
Also, you would think that he would know that the Packers NEVER picked a DE in the 3rd round, considering he is such a big Packer fan that spends A LOT OF TIME on here posting about the Packers. Who is this guy trying to kid?

vikings fans can say whatever they want but most of them wanted there coach fired a couple of years ago-i.e. before chilly started smoking brett’s pole. fact of the matter they know they can’t win without brett. t-jack =garbage adrian petersen= fumble machine, mullet machine= oh wait he shaved it off, it’s not a hair cut it’s a lifestyle.lol = azzclown

    I’m not anti-Pack. YOU are.
You are the ones that don’t mind suffering through perennial mediocrity, just so long as it means you don’t have to admit you were wrong in supporting the worst GM in football.
I want to win, to bring the Lombardi trophy back to Lombardi’s team where it belongs, and I am doing everything a simple fan can do to influence and help make that happen.

Stark’s is this year’s Sutton for a pair of well oiled and massaged pair of lower legs around here.
BJax isn’t the answer, but TT will never pull the trigger on a key over-the-hump trade/signing. No sane NFL DC fears the Packers screen sets.
Rub those gams GJ and hope TT realizes Special Teams shouldn’t ride a short bus and sometimes the RB has to catch the ball in the flat.

  22. GJ85sCalves says: Jul 1, 2010 1:31 AM

    Beer Cheese Soup,
The Homers over at jsonline are touting TT’s “growth” (don’t doctors remove those) at picking players. One guy suggested he wasn’t hired to learn on the job, but he was pilloried.
Give TT a cc and he’ll take a quart.

The Polish Rifle… I’ have NEVER thought it funny that TT doesn’t think special teams need much attention or that EVERY NFL DC KNOWS whenever we run a screen.
Otherwise, keep my name out of your disease ridden mouth and mind your own business. Noses that stick themselves in other people’s business tend to get clipped!

What are you talking about? Our special teams are incredible. We have Jarrett Bush, people! Plus, we have Crosby, he can kick really far (just not accurately), and Blackmon is an excellent return man (at least three weeks out of the year when he actually sees the field), and, umm.. who the hell is our punter these days??
Not long ago, we had Ryan Longwell, Tracy White, Koren Robinson and Jon Ryan. Those are some fairly respectable special teamers. Not surprisingly, now they’re gone.
I don’t know what Ted’s aversion to getting and keeping quality talent is, but I have certainly had my fill of it, and more so the people who continue to defend his destructive ways while calling themselves Packer fans.

The Packers have TWICE picked a DE in the 3rd round. And although BCS is misguided on Ted Thompson, he’s a Packer fan.
