Cowboys embrace Super Bowl talk

Jerry Jones has built to this moment, putting a championship-contending team on the field during the season JerryWorld hosts the Super Bowl.

The Cowboys hype brings pressure, but linebacker Bradie James welcomes it.  He wants to hear Super Bowl talk.

“Nah, we can’t be scared to mention it,” James said on 103.3 FM ESPN to Matt Mosley Thursday.  “That’s our ultimate goal. With
it being here in Dallas, we want to be that first team to make history.”

We think the Cowboys have a chance, but the schedule does them no favors.  The NFC East looks balanced, and they face the NFC North and AFC South out of division.

With that slate, it would surprise us if any NFC East team earned a bye in the playoffs.

Or if they don’t win the Super Bowl they at least hope that the opposing team won’t run up the score.

HAHAHAHAH the closest this joke of a team will get to playing in the Superbowl is the 8 games they play in JerryWorld during the regular season.
Cue the 1-7boys apologists in 5…4…3…2…1…

We think the Cowboys have a chance,
I beg to differ. The Cowboys have. Absolutely. No. Chance.
I remember last year when they were “a lock” to dismantle the Vikings on their way to the NFC Championship game. Next thing you know, Mr. Brooking is balling cuz Brett threw too many td’s.

  6. Love_Boat_Scandal says: Jun 24, 2010 4:56 PM

Puh-lease. The ‘Boys got spanked by both the Pack and Vikes last year. They are so overrated.
All this Super Bowl talk will leave them with their “pants on the ground” when they fizzle out.

  20. C-Student says: Jun 24, 2010 5:23 PM

You haters really should take a long look at your lives. Why do you carry so much hate in your hearts? You could have read over this story and kept it moving. But the hater in you just wouldn’t let you do it. You had to say something negative about the Cowboys. Shame. Your lives are that empty.
Lock your gun closets and have someone hide the key. All that hate you walk around with is going to make you want to kill yourselves when you see Romo kissing the Lombardi trophy in February.

  21. JasonW says: Jun 24, 2010 5:24 PM

9 – 7. Romo will be practicing for next years US Open while the playoffs are going on.

Clown all you want, but nobody here knows what the Cowboys are going to do this season.
Just worry about your own teams.
There are many teams out there that host the SB and do not generate as much interest (or hype) and the media loves it.

for all the Hating sissy’s on this site….

  28. eaglesnoles05 says: Jun 24, 2010 5:50 PM

I, for one, have a lot of hate for the cowboys because I hate the *&^% out of that team, and that star, and Romo, and everything Dallas. I am a hater. Fact. I hate them.

  29. shadycowboy27 says: Jun 24, 2010 5:54 PM

Wow are there alot of Cowboy Haterz. This is the year. The dallas offense will be much better this year than last. And our defense will only improve. We dominated the Saints, didn’t show up for the Packers, and last but not least. The Vikings yeah, they whooped us good. Does that mean the vikings are a better team ……….? No, they were better on that day. I do not believe Farve in Dallas would have one that game. The Minnesota stadium is a tough place to play along with a great d-line. The O line was the biggest weakness, and may continue to be. It was against the giants in the Divisional Playoff round too in the second half. I am not proclaiming a SB victory. But u haterz are ridiculous.

  30. stlsteelerfan says: Jun 24, 2010 5:56 PM

I dont think James is being overly optimistic or cocky. The dude said they can’t shy away from the talk of wanting to play in the Super Bowl. What’s he supposed to say? “No, we really don’t want to play in the Big Game. ” Or “I don’t think we have a shot.” Those would be dumb answers….the dude said, in essence “It would be cool, and I hope we can make it happen.” Can’t fault the guy for that

  34. PriorKnowledge says: Jun 24, 2010 6:16 PM

You can’t get the SB with a QB like Romo that does not take his job seriously.

  35. gurnblanston says: Jun 24, 2010 6:21 PM

The tears are coming. Romo being held affectionately by Whitten as his tears stream down his face. Keith Brooking crying that the scoreboard is unfair. Jerry scheduling emergency plastic surgery to restore his face after a bitter season so he can host real champions in his overblown playground.
At least nothing as distracting as playing in the Super Bowl will keep Cowgirls – past and present – from supporting the local economy by scoring rock, banging whores and buying neon suits for court appearances. Hail!

  40. smithopher says: Jun 24, 2010 6:51 PM

I don’t particularly like the Cowboys, honestly I like the Giants because I’m from NY, but I think the Cowboys should have this division… I wasn’t impressed with the Giants last season and won’t believe they’ve rebounded til I see it, and I don’t think that Philly will be as good without McNabb and Westbrook. The Redskins… Well, who knows. New coach, new QB, we’ll see how they do, but they shouldn’t be able to contend with the Cowboys. I see them going 12-4, give or take a game.

  43. VoxVagina says: Jun 24, 2010 7:22 PM

Inflated expectations= failure. I remember 3 of the last 4 years in which the Cowboys were preseason Super Bowl favorites. The one season where they didn’t have much pressure was last season and they were actually pretty successful. I think they’ll flop this year as will the Jets

Absolutely right. I mean, the skins didn’t talk about a top 5 draft pick but they came together as a team and managed to pull it off. With a team that solid, they can do it again this year.

  45. MrHumble says: Jun 24, 2010 7:51 PM

Da’ boys aren’t even in the top 5 teams in the nfc….jerry the pimp mite get his way in texas and get his way with his new whorehouse stadium and get his way with the commish, but the packers, vikings, saints, eagles and falcons aren’t gonna hand him a thing. does da’ boys still have that crybaby from last year, what was his name, the “broke-back cowboy” who cried after the vikings tarred their asses in the playoffs?

  46. bigstorm says: Jun 24, 2010 7:52 PM

Of course Jones loves having that massive ego stroked.
The Cowgirls aren’t even a likely top 5 NFC team. Who is heaping praise on them?
We all know won’t show up in the playoffs even if they do sneak in.
    Stop the insanity.

  47. goboys82 says: Jun 24, 2010 8:14 PM

haters are so so so funny… especially vikings fans. I mean, the vikings and their rent a qb didn’t do much better, actually i think all they got out of last year was a lower draft pick than us. And what’s your sb record? 0-4? pathetic, bad as the bills.

Jessica Romo in a Super Bowl – hilarious! Wonder if she would wear her little baseball hat backwards, or show up in her pink #9 jersey. If the Steelers made it to the Super Bowl against the CowGirls, Steelers would probably re-sign Deshea Townsend, just to watch him grab Jessica’s wobbly “passes” again and zip into the end zone, LOL

It’s a long time till January, 2011. I like the idea of the Cowboys talking themselves up to play in the Super bowl. This happens every 3 years or so. By September, the Cowboys will have convinced themselves they’ve already won the entire season. All they have to do is show up.

  64. lons says: Jun 25, 2010 3:56 AM

team you support has a QB that does more than live football 24/7. Hell I’m glad Romo plays golf, if I were a Steelers fan I’d be wanting a QB that plays golf instead of chasing jail bait at sleazy bars.
@Vikings fans that insist that they killed us last year: I show you what we did to the Eagles two times in a row this past year after they did the same to end our season the year before. I’m sure everyone on the Cowboys has that game circled in red. I mean really, you have a 41 year old QB that played out of his mind last year for a team that just spent the last 15 years of his life spiting on him as the QB from GB. Talk about band wagon fans….
@Green Bay fans that insist they blew the Cowboys away in that game: We lost a starting right tackle, a starting right corner, and a starting free safety due to your field. The refs gave your coach an extra time out with a review and then gave a fumble to your team that was clearly already jumped on by Felix Jones and you still barely won that game. Do you really think that will happen again this year? I’d be more worried about keeping your star QB upright, how many times was he sacked last year?
@any Saints fan that wants to try that jinx again: Go on, Tell us we have no chance. I’ve got a blown up photo of Jenks INT with his towel that said WE DAT that I’ll mail you.
Dallas has a horrible schedule this year and I’m not even worried. Solid team, not idiots left and everyone wants this so bad they can taste it. I can’t wait for the season to start so we can actually talk about something besides the drivel Florio posts and every fan jumps on because they are bored out of their minds.
@willmose 18 years ago was 1992, who won the ’92 and ’93 Superbowls Will? And then the ’95 Superbowl? They may not have won but 1 since that ’95 Superbowl. But that is an awful lot of play off wins from ’92 to ’96. I’m pretty sure there are 18 year olds that may not remember that. But you’d have to be 14 to have seen the only playoff win since that Superbowl. There is exactly 1 team in the entire NFL that has won more Superbowls than the Cowboys and it is by 1 and it is the Steelers. Niners are tied with 5, but I’d not expect you to know any of this since you can’t even count.
