Chad Jones in critical condition after car accident

Giants safety Chad Jones, a third-round pick in the 2010 draft, was listed in critical condition and in surgery as of 11:15 a.m. ET following a serious car accident.

Per WWL-TV, Jones suffered a fractured leg, with “arteries and nerves exposed.”

The headline to the item characterizes Jones as being in “guarded” condition, but the article uses only the term “critical.”

Either way, it’s a serious situation and our prayers are with Jones and his family.

Oh man…you pop onto PFT to take your mind off work for a few minutes, and you get to read this…that really sucks, seemed to be a fantastic kid, I really wanted Pittsburgh to draft him.
    I really hope he’s ok

this guy was such a G and class act (rarely the 2 go together). I watched him play at LSU (football and baseball) for years. I remember they used to throw him on the pitchers mound and it used to blow peoples minds (because it was clear that he was not a developed pitcher, but he still got K’s). he took a ball to the face in the outfield once, got a black eye, and kept playing.
the local community loves this guy because they got to see him year round playing for 2 extremely popular sports teams. Figures hed be in New Orleans. Get better Mr. Jones. you still belong on the football field.

At least he’s still alive. I just found out that Michael Jackson died a year ago! Did any of you others hear about that?? You’d think it would have been all over the news or something.

    I hope he recovers fully.
I just hope the car accident doesn’t stem from “rookie-itis”; i.e. drinking, partying, etc.

There’s a link to it on Huffingon Post, it looks he was speeding in a residential /commercial district, nowhere near the highway..
Luckily no one else was injured by this recklessness.
