Miami announced the signings of cornerback Nolan Carroll and linebacker Austin Spitler on Friday, meaning half of the team’s eight man draft class is under contract.
Carroll, from Maryland, will try to make the team with his return skills. He missed most of his senior year with a broken leg.
Spitler, a seventh-round pick, didn’t play a lot at Ohio State and was a bit of a surprise selection. He’s working at inside linebacker in Miami.

Gregg, I thank you for writing this blurb instead of Florio.
Mike Nolan Carroll.
Carroll to make the team using his return skills? He will try to make the team as a backup safety…..would have been a 2nd-3rd round pick if it wasn’t for his injury.
Just another piece of the puzzle.
