Casey Hampton's home burglarized

The ugly offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers shows no signs of improving.

On the same day tackle Willie Colon was likely lost for the season, we learn that defensive tackle Casey Hampton’s home was burglarized, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.  His security system was dismantled by the intruder.  (He clearly didn’t have Broadview security.)

Police are looking for the person who stole three flat screen TVs and jewelry from Hampton’s house, that was being watched by one of Mr. Hampton’s assistants.

No word if Hampton’s assistant will become Hampton’s former assistant.

  1. Sounds like a crappy assistant.
Yo, Casey, you looking for a new assistant? I promise to always speak glowingly about the days when you and Shaun Rogers were terrorizing offensive linemen in college. And to not let people burglarize your home while I’m “watching” it.

  2. Big Benny was the associate but he was in the bathroom with some 20 year old while his body guard cased the joint

  3. It must have been ben…. naw just kidding. Might have something to do with his “assistants”.

Must of been a Bengals player looking for the Steelers playbook.
Dude, I’m a Browns fan and I didn’t even think that was funny. Having your home broken into is a scary thing. Sean Taylor is a perfect example.

  5. wouldn’t have to look much further than the dumpsters at Heinz Field for those playbooks…

  6. its those Bengals wise-cracks that make us not even give 1 turd about the steelers and their “ugly offseason”….sucks when karma catches up to you and forces you into the bathroom huh

  7. @Clevefan:
    Geez, lighten up.
Seriously, you need to get more action in your life.

  8. Rough day for the black and yellow. Home robbery, torn achilles, what’s next?
The kind of mojo they got going today, Tomlin better babysit Ben personally until this black cloud blows over.

First off, it’s not a Bengals-related story, so go back to reading about your Who-Dey garbage if you’re going to whine. Furthermore, the jokes about the Bengals mentioned above were about as mild as they come (you hear harsher remarks on a pre-school playground). Unless you grew up in some ultra-sheltered farm town, I have a hard time believing you actually found anything mentioned above offensive.

  15. The thief knew what kind of security system Hampton had and how to disable it? The 3 TVs are petty theft. The jewelry is another matter. When it comes to the Steelers, the hits just keep on coming. Will there be a team left to start the season?
    GO STEELERS!

Police report his five refrigerators were empty. So nothing was stolen there.
