Dwayne Bowe: ESPN Magazine quote “definitely wasn’t me”

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe continues to claim that ESPN the Magazine misquoted him in an article that discussed members of the Chiefs “importing” women to stay with them in hotels for road games.

In an interview with 790 the Zone in Atlanta, Bowe was asked if his teammates had a problem with the article, in which he was quoted as saying, “some of my teammates had it set up so there was a girl in every room.” Bowe said his teammates aren’t mad because they believe him that ESPN the Magazine misquoted him.

“No, because now they are finding out that it definitely wasn’t me,” Bowe said, per SportsRadioInterviews.com. “But I took that like a man. People that really know the Dwayne Bowe that clowns but on a serious note won’t let anything out of the locker room that is not supposed to be out.”

Bowe has said multiple times that ESPN the Magazine misquoted him, but he hasn’t explained what exactly he did say. ESPN insists that it has a tape of the interview and stands by the story, but ESPN’s refusal to broadcast the audio or make it available online means the rest of us are left to decide for ourselves whether we believe Bowe or ESPN.
