So, a Cincinnati cop profiled Benson and then somehow used his powers of telepathy to transmit his intentions to a colleague in Texas where Benson was arrested?
Yeah, some serious profiling going on there.
Bottom line – has there been much doubt about the crimes the Bungles have committed? No, I’m not talking about them impersonating a professional football team, I mean the real crimes. You know, like assault, disorderly conduct, DUI, etc? Yeah, no doubt there, is there?
So who gives a crap if the cops are profiling? If they are catching criminals, good. If they’re hassling innocent citizens, bad. But guess what, they’re catching criminals in this case. Don’t recall a single episode where it was proven a Cincy cop profiled a Bengals player for no good reason.
This isn’t a shakedown of the good citizens of Cincinnati. These are legitimate arrests of people who have committed crimes. Period.

Hell if you think the police are bad in Cincinnati you should check out the racist sports media in Cincy. They love their gritty,gamer, less athletic whiteboy athletes but cant stand the star black athletes wiling to stand up to them and tell them were to go. And the same goes for the 2 black coaches in town. The Cincy sports media has been trying to get rid of Marvin Lewis and Dusty Baker since day one. Everybody knows Cincinnati is a racist town and the police and media are just like the media. You dont get a reputation as a racist city unless there is some truth to it. Just ask Chad, Griffey Jr. Vada Oinson, Frank Robinson, Oscar robertson, Eric davis, Barry Larkin, dan Wilkerson,Corey Patterson and Brandon Phillips.

It amazes me what absolute mongoloids post on this website. “Well they wear striped uniforms, so…”, “Bungles do it again…” “Derka Derka Derka Mohammed Jihad”. Joke. Benson has a history of making bad decisions and going out AGAIN in Austin over Memorial Day weekend at a bar was another one. However, if you objectively read between the lines on the story, it really seems as if he was defending himself and kind of got the runaround by the police in TX. Adam Schefter of ESPN called this situation “minor” in the eyes of the League office and the Bengals beat writer, Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, believes that Benson won’t be suspended. This will blow over soon.
As for cops targeting Bengal players, I don’t really doubt that. But, it’s not like they don’t have reason to target them. I’m sure they’re up to date with Bengals news and know when they bring in players with histories like Tank Johnson, Cedric Benson, Adam Jones, etc.

The whole argument that Cincy cops profile athletes is false. Here's a website that links to the NFL database for player arrests since 2000. Look at the Bengals. Only a handful were arrested in Cincy. Most were in KY. There's FL, WV, Texas, Dayton, Amelia. Most were guys beating up there girlfriends who then called the cops. Cincinnati is a horrible, depressing, run down, ugly, nasty, crime-filled, ass-backwards scar on the midwest. Yes, I’ve been there. I have no clue why *anyone* would live there or stay there. I say the entire city and surrounding area should just all go to war with each other until they’re all dead, then tear down all the buildings, bulldoze it all into Kentucky somehwere, and reclaim the area as farm land.

Bottom line – If you’re being targeted and you’re not doing anything wrong, you’ve got nothing to worry about.
I live in Cincy and haven’t heard any reports of players complaining that they’ve been harrassed by the police for no reason.
Ric Bucher is an enabler, just like Mike Brown who continues to give guys that nobody else wants a forth, five, and sixth chance.

Is there some truth to Bucher’s statement? Definitely. Does it apply in all cases? Definitely not.
I agree with Seals’ quote about cops. Some are great and the others are nothing more than criminals hiding behind their shields.
As far as the racial make-up of the criminal element many of you are very naive or just plain dumb. I suggest you take a trip to the nearest federal prison. There are millions of violent Caucasian felons in the system.

Using this data base (http://www.signonsandiego.com/nfl/arrests-database/?appSession=855248833574184) I counted 22 Bengal player arrests since Marvin took over (wow). I excluded one that happened prior to the player actually being drafted by the Bengals and one that wasnt even an arrest or criminal citation. Of the 22 arrests only 6 happened in Cincy, and half of those belong to Chris Henry. I wasnt sure about Leon Hall’s DUI, but I think that was Cincy so I included that one. If it wasnt in Cincy then we are down to only 5.
So Bucher is basically FOS.

I would say 50% of Police are good people honestly trying to to do good things for everyone and these are the cops that we couldn’t live without.
I also believe 50% are egomaniacs that live on the edge of of being criminals also and use the law as weapon. I don’t know how you clean that up.

Kind of tired of defending the bengals.
Profiling or not, if they’re breaking the law, the cops are just doing their jobs. Maybe Bucher should have said that the police don’t put the athletes on a pedestal.
I’d say that’s why the police aren’t inviting the Bengals to the shooting range to fire illegal semi/full automatic weapons like they do in Pittsburgh.
Or maybe they don’t do that because handling firearms would violate 75% of the players’ probation terms. The other 25% are cammo-ed up, hunting with Whitworth and Palmer.

Here’s a crazy idea for Bengals players – keep your noses clean! If you commit NO CRIMES, you can’t get arrested. Hire a driver/bodygaurd so your never behind the wheel and don’t frequent strip clubs/bars/clubs where sh*t goes down all the time and you won’t get arrested! Just sayin…..
