The time for holdouts is coming

It’s July 1.  This means that, by the end of the month, it’s likely that a rookie or two, or more, will fail to report for the opening of training camp.

So which players are the most likely to holdout?

It’s one of the six PFTV topics of the week.

    Wrongo Dongo Captain Stupid. Dez’s contract signing will not be a problem. he will not miss a single game nor any significant training camp time.

    @Jackson: Who are you? Dez’s agent? Bryant is the biggest prima donna in this year’s draft class. In this uncapped year, I practically EXPECT him to hold out.

    the answer is no.. everything dez and his agent has said up until this point indicates he’ll be at camp on time. why is it that only the dallas cowboys have the ability to create these hugely fabricated stories?? Mike Vick goes out and shoots someone and no one cares. If that was jon kitna, he’d be taking a media bashing right now.

    @MidMonsters,
    You are completely off base. Dez may not be the most educated kid in the draft, but he is not Micheal Crabtree. Almost all of the supposed “problems” this kid are mostly fabricated by the media. I am not saying he will not miss any camp time, but to call him a prima donna is just uninformed. Dez is a hard worker and so far has shown to be a team player.

    Funny how Florio points out that Ndamukong Suh said that he doesn’t’ want to hold out but fails to mention that Dez Bryant said that he would absolutely not hold out before Suh even said it. He also fails to mention how Eugene Parker and Jerry Jones agreed on the phone to avoid a Crabtree situation and work on a deal based on the 24th slot in the draft before the Cowboys selected Bryant.
    But then again, what would this story be without trying to create a little controversy in Cowboy land. Give me a break.

    2 years in a row Parker signs the highest touted WR in the draft and 2 years in a row he is not the first WR picked… Maybe these WR prospects should re-think who they are hiring as their agents.

    60minuteassassin – you beat me to it man… darrenbailey is crazy if he thinks this is getting more publicity than Vick… hahhahahah Seriously? Was that serious? Vick’s currently got 6 of the top 10 most commented posts on PFT right now. Maybe if you live in Texas you hear about Dallas in local sportscasts more than other places, but I live in NY and I’m hearing about Vick all the damn time.

    I am a 40+ year Boys fan & whether it’s Dez or any rookie, or veteran, like Haynse(not)worth(it), etc., I am sick & triede of these players & their attitudes!
    First, for rookies to hold out is just so wrong- sign a still lucrative contract, fresh out of college, then work & prove yourselves to your veteran teammates! But if you are all hype & can’t make it (yeaa, I know, no guaranteed contracts), then fall back on your college education. You did study & work in college, right ?!
    And for the Veterans who are holding out of existing contracts, shame on you! You approved & signed a contract, so apparently you were okay with it, right ? Then grow a pair & gut it out, making only 5 mil a year when another is now making more, & quit your crying! YOU signed it, now honor it!
    And even if you are ONLY making say 5 Mil, & even if you did not get a real education in college, who can’t live out their lifetime on 5 Million ? Well, the majority of us common citizens can & do!
    Rookies, Albert & others, read a paper lately ? Have ya seen how many thousands & thousands are out of work, with no health care, how many men who served pour country in Nam are living on the streets ? Hey, consider yourselves damn lucky you have God given talent & not only have a job, an extremely lucrative(overpaid) job, but food,water & shelter. Any & all whjo hold out, for whatever false reasons? You all make me sick!
