The Rooney’s have always let success go to their heads, and they eventually take the fans for granted. Case in point – trading Franco to the Seahawks when he was 300 (or so) yards shy of passing Jim Brown on the all-time list. Cheat me as a Steeler fan once – shame on me. Do it multiple times, and try to shove career backups into the place of HOFer’s – shame on you

No disrespect for Franco, but he sucked when the Seahawks signed him, and he didn’t last the season before they cut him. Although I am not a Steeler fan, Franco was great in his earlier years, but nothing left in the tank when the Hawks signed him.

Let me just say that there is a reason that “The Wire” was set in Baltiwhore. Your city is a disgrace to our great country. It is depressed and crime ridden, a resurgence is nowhere in site.
Meanwhile, formerly depressed Pittsburgh is ranked most livable by Forbes, top 10 places to raise a family and in the top 5 of numerous other quality of life indexes. Your town continues to be nothing other than the bottom of the drain for the real east coast cities- the ones that really won us our independence. Jerk.
BTW- Where do you think the steel came from for WWII? Get nostalgic today and throw on Alabama’s “America”. “Hello Pittsburgh”..no Baltiwhore in that song. What exactly is it that you do for this country? Annapolis does not count.

The guy is soooooo past his prime. The best Flozell could do for any team that might sign him is be a back-up to give the other guy a breather every-so-often. He looks like a guy on his way to some place like Oakland or Cincy, and it certainly won’t be for $4 million.

Why the hell would they even bother to work out Flozell? They’ve never signed a guy like him (aged former star, looking for a payday), and they never will, especially on the O-line. Must have been looking to get some publicity for something other than our drunk starting qb?
Guaranteed – whoever fills that role will be a 7th round pick from a Division II school moving over from backup guard, or it will be a veteran minimum free agent signing of a cast-off from Detroit or Buffalo or Tampa Bay. That’s the Steeler’s way when it comes to plugging O-line holes, because the Rooney’s really are that cheap.
Dumb-a$$es could have had Faneca twice now in the past three years, which would have anchored a guard spot and freed up guys to work at other positions on the line. But no – Faneca is not a ‘Tomlin guy”, he is a “Cowher guy”, and the “era of the Chin” MUST end (according to the Rooney Bible) – so Steeler fans are not allowed to enjoy the play of a guy who should have been a lifetime, Hall of Fame Steeler helping to anchor our line.
Don’t get me wrong – 6 times in my 36+ years as a Steelers fan, everything has worked out pretty good. It’s the other 30 or-so years that have often sucked because of BS like this. A big flunk to the Rooney’s for failing to sign a HOF’er like Faneca TWICE over petty issues.

The Steelers already have a right tackle on the roster although he played guard to sub for Chris Kemoeatu while he was hurt. It wouldn’t be the first time a tackle started out at guard. The player’s name is Ramon Foster and he played right tackle for Tennessee.

Not having seen much of the Cowboys over the years (due to a lack of interest), I don’t know what Adams history is regarding pre-snap penalties. But he can’t be any worse that Willie “False Start” Colon…
Incidently, with Colon now apparently shelved for the season, Big Ben has gained a playmate while he’s off vacationing the first month of the regular season.

Based on last yr, is he worth 4 mil/yr – probably not.
The Steelers are thin now and another injury during the yr is almost inevitable.
In a uncapped year, I think it’s worth the risk.
