I do want to complement you for being willing to acknowledge a full 40 years of NFL history in your personal take on the typical Viking “Championships have expiration dates” rant.
Most of you guys only like to go back ten years. Some of you don’t even want to remember six months ago.

No. Super Bowl appearances, playoff appearances, division titles et al don’t mean anything. They are pity-party consolation prizes and nothing more.
As I’ve said before, each year, only ONE team wins. The rest all lose, and they all lose equally. The only difference between them is the draft order. The Saints obviously were last year’s one successful team. The Packers, Vikings, Colts, Rams, and everyone else all tied for last. So there’s nothing good for either of us to say about last season.
Your regular season record doesn’t matter. If you can’t get it done when it matters most, you have ultimately lost. No better example of this than the ’07 Patriots. They were a very good team. That doesn’t matter, though, because they lost.
Now, back to topic. As you very well know, the Vikings bear the dubious distinction of being one of a few teams that have ALWAYS lost.
The Packers do not. They’ve won more than anyone, in fact, but you all like to pretend most of those didn’t happen. Who can blame you, after all.
So, just for fun, we’ll ignore when the league was ACTUALLY formed, and do it your way and go back only 40 years. During that period, the Vikings have lost every single year they’ve played. The Packers have at least won once. It isn’t much, but that alone still makes them the better team.

Vikings played in 4 of them in that time frame, won the division more, and won more games overall, but failed to win the superbowl.

What do you mean, last year was their year? I know they were saying that on here all season, but it obviously wasn’t true..
Last year was the Saints’ year. It wasn’t the Vikings’ anymore than it belonged to the Packers, Steelers or Rams. The only difference is, those teams have all won it before. The Vikings obviously have not.
So, I don’t know what you’re thinking. Last year wasn’t their year. This year isn’t either. They have never HAD a “year”, and they likely never will. They will, however, continue to claim their paper championship trophies for the remainder of this (and every future) offseason.

PAckers and Vikings were not that much better than them last year and i dont see any improvements on their rosters this offseason and the bears have upgraded every position on the field.

A couple things to surprisingly dumb Vikings fans posting here:
1. “Winning your division first” is not a prerequisite to winning the Super Bowl. Knowledgeable football fans would know this.
2. Despite your magical and often lucky season last year, you still accomplished nothing more than Green Bay, you lost in the playoffs to an inferior team on a fluke play.
3. The Packers have won 12 NFL Championships. The Vikings have won zero. So stop with the trash talk because you managed to win one more game than GB did last year.
4. The Packers were 4-12 with Brett Favre at QB the year before McCarthy took over. The Favre Apologists always leave that one out of their arguments.
5. Favre quit after the Giants loss. The Packers didnt force him out.
6. Last year was the first year of the new defense. GB will be better this year. Giving up points in a pass-happy league against the best passing attacks is going to happen with the new rules being enforced they way they are.
7. Favre, like Marino, will one day lose the zip on his arm. It will happen in game 10 of this season.
8. Last year was Minnesota’s best chance at a SB. You will not win it this year.
9. Barnett ALWAYS says that. Would you want a player on your team who went into the season saying anything less? “Uh, we dont expect to win the SB this year..uh, I just be in it for a paycheck.” (d*amn, Vikings fans are dumb.)
10. The Packers record since Rodgers was drafted:
4-12 with Favre
8-8 with Favre
13-3 with Favre
6-10 with Rodgers
11-5 with Rodgers
?-? with Rodgers
An 8-8 finish and Rodgers 1st three years equal Favre’s LAST three with GB. I think they’ll go 12-4 this year.
11. Of the Packers’ 12 NFL Championships teams, Brett Favre played QB for exactly ONE of them. Get over the Brett Favre gay love worship. The guy’s won as many rings as Trent Dilfer has.

Really, do you know anyone outside the state of Minnesota? Lots of people believe Saints were the better team. They played a bad game that one night, but that was one game, one night. All season long the Saints were better than the Vikings — a better record, the #1 offense, more takeaways by the defense, most points scored in the league, QB had highest passer rating, set NFL accuracy record, and threw for the most touchdowns, the Saints won 13 games in A ROW, and oh yeah, they won the Super Bowl. Can’t wait for September 9.

The “nonsense and bickering” ensues after every Packers/Vikings article. It has nothing to do with Barnett, in fact he isn’t even mentioned after the third or fourth comment.
This is really about us being upset with the Viking fans because they refuse to get a new stadium so they can stay in the North and ensure we get more night games, and the Viking fans being upset with us because we constantly remind them of how terrible their team is.

That’s hardly praise for the Thompson method. When you don’t sign quality free agents ever, you HAVE to keep all of your picks.
I don’t know if saying they’re still “playing” in the league is accurate though. They may all be on NFL rosters, but guys like Will Blackmon and Justin Harrell haven’t actually played much at all.

Oh and also packfanslikesheep and all those other people dissing Thompson. So your saying Ted Thompson hasn’t done a good job as a GM. Well let’s see he signed the Defensive Player of the Year last year Charles Woodson. Drafted Aaron Rodgers, Greg Jennings, Jeremicheal Finley, and Clay Matthews. Oh and he traded for Ryan Grant (maybe no the greatest running back but he sure protects the ball, only runningback in the NFL not to have a fumble with so many carries, unlike Adrian Peterson) and gave up a 6th round pick only. But well I guess Ted sucks even though he’s brought in all these players and has reassembled this roster from when Mike Sherman destroyed the roster. The only players that reamin from him are Al Harris, Nick Barnett, Mark Tauscher, Chad Clifton, and Donald Driver. But according to you guys he has done nothing, who am i to tell you your wrong?
