Mike Vick admits "there never should have been a party"

The folks at FOX 29 bumped into Eagles quarterback Mike Vick today, as he was making his way out of the federal courthouse in Philly.

In the video, Vick is asked if he thinks he has been railroaded by the media in the wake of the shooting that occurred at his 30th birthday party.

Said Vick, “No, I haven’t been railroaded at all.”

Asked next about the infamous “All White” birthday bash, Vick was surprisingly candid.  “There never should have been a party,” he said.

Apparently, however, there will be another one.  FOX 29 reports that 3000 Ultra Bistro in Stone Mountain, Ga., is hosting “The Michael Vick
Birthday Celebrity Golf Tournament.”

A shotgun start is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 11.  Under the circumstances, they might want to come up with a different term for the manner in which the event will be launched.

They need the shotgun start to mask the sound of the other gun going off

  2. ADogDC says: Jul 6, 2010 3:55 PM

So now the can’t host a celibraty golf outing?!!?!?!? Where does the Florio vandetta stop?

  3. Johnabis says: Jul 6, 2010 3:56 PM

Big difference between a celebrity golf tournament which is probably to raise money for a charity versus having a party at a club.

    Uhh……….Duh,,ya really think?
“Shotgun start” is a term that fits in relation to Vick……….and Marshawn………….and Tank………..and Plaxman…………and the rest of the turds.

  5. The Real Shuxion says: Jul 6, 2010 3:58 PM

Vick had two choices for where to host his golf tournament.
The Jim Crowe Country Club had more pristine greens and a nicer backdrop but Vick would have had to wear a Nixon mask if he wanted to golf there.

… purple drank will be served on the veranda.. and by the liquor cart out on the course…

  9. TFormation says: Jul 6, 2010 4:05 PM

Well, Mike Vick does have some very well-documented bills he needs to pay… guess he couldn’t let a little thing like a shooting get in the way of his “party” appearances.
At least this one doesn’t go on until 3am with an open bar.
    …and it’s for charity? Wha?

  10. nfcbeast says: Jul 6, 2010 4:06 PM

Vick had nothing to do with the shooting, so leave him alone now.
He had a party and enabled the enviroment to exist but he didnt pull the trigger or bring a gun.
Lets all focus on Jamarcus Russell b/c he is the next infamous QB thats going to be in the spotlight now.

  11. sdffa11 says: Jul 6, 2010 4:07 PM

having a club party is much different from a 10am golf outing party.
stop trying to stir up $hit when there isnt any.

  12. nfcbeast says: Jul 6, 2010 4:09 PM

There are enough NFL players that have phucked up that they could really have a Hard Knocks-Jail Yard Team.
Seriously, think about how rich these guys are, they’ve spent their whole life trying to make it to the NFL, excell at it when they get there and then just throw it all away b/c they are too stupid.
It’s sad, maybe they should make it so that you have to graduate from college to get into the NFL. I mean seriously, these guys are RETARDED.

So if someone gets shot outside the Golf Course is it Vicks fault and he should be inside his home being a hermit and not playing Golf? haha

  16. Mooch says: Jul 6, 2010 4:23 PM

How much of the golf is going to charity, or is it 100% for profit?
Poonhok, those Southern Dems are now all Republicans. It’s how Bush rebuilt the GOP after Nixon’s fall. Check out GHW Bush bio on American Experience. Despite this, he comes off very good.

Vick finally admits that there shouldn’t have been a party, what we were saying all along. Way to step up MV. Now I DO believe he had nothing to do with the shooting, however without the party, no ones gets shot. I hope for his sake that he doesn’t get thrown out of the NFL, maybe a suspension for a game or 2. No way he’s getting out of this mess without some kind of punishment unfortunately.

I just wanted to make the family guy reference, when Cleveland had to wear the Nixon mask to play in Barrington CC.

Have a news flash for you…
Florio doesn’t have a “Vandetta.” And there isn’t going to be a “celibraty” golf outing.

Poonhok, political parties shift their focus over time. The democrats of yesteryear were not the same of now. Abe Lincoln was a republican, doesn’t mean modern day republicans should be credited with their plight to end slavery.

P.S. The jokes never get old from you guys, doesnt matter that they are being repeated for the 8ooth time they are still gut bustingly funny. Well done sirs.

some of you people’s comments are the most idiotic I’ve ever seen. From Florio’s overblown journalism to fools that think you can’t have a party because of who you are and what you participated in in the past.
What Vick SHOULD have done was not open it to the public. 2nd, have tighter security to remove Phillips once he stated himself that he saw him in the club.
I’m in no way a sympathizer but at some point you have to be realistic.

How come this clowns vision is 20/20 when looking in the rear view mirror?
He either doesn’t think or doesn’t care.
He needs to roll with a new posse.
The excuses are no longer believable and he seems to just be laughing at the system.
Someone is going to jail in this latest shooting and it better not be anyone close to him who gets squeezed because they will rat him out just like they did last time…. oh right…. he was at the party…. and got shot…. why was he allowed in there?
    I’ll just say it,
Vick is going back to prison for consorting with known felons.

Haters…..Vick will be at Eagles training camp on the first day….you would think the very very clear statement that was officially from the Eagles (not an unnamed source with knowledge of the team’s thinking) would be enough….but noooooo, you let Perez Florio squeak’s and squeal’s lead you on! LOL Now go ahead and start quacking about Goodell gonna still suspend him and how he violated his probation and all that nonsense…go ahead and get all that outta your systems! You got 3 weeks – then its training camp and maybe you can move on. LOL

Nothing makes me happier than seeing so-called grown men comment like they think anyone else who comments on anything is like a little girl, when actually the so-called grown men in question are losers with no sense of humor just trying to take up for a fellow ebonite in a holier than thou libtard kind of way. Nothing.
P.S. The lectures are all too old from you so-called grown guys, doesnt matter that they are being repeated for the 8,000,000th time, they are still absolutely asinine and hypocritical. Really not well done.

  33. granadafan says: Jul 6, 2010 7:44 PM

Of course athletes shouldn’t remain hidden away and not enjoy the social life. However, guys like Michael Vick who are already treading on thin ice ought to really be careful about where they go, and especially with whom they associate. A party isn’t best idea when your posse includes thugs and gangsters. Celebrity and fame shouldn’t be a jail sentence, but they need to be a lot smarter.

  34. Opie says: Jul 6, 2010 8:03 PM

@ nicksabansucks: that’s funny and yet still a very good question. Has he had “time” to work on his game?!?
    Mooch says:
How much of the golf is going to charity, or is it 100% for profit? I’ll let you make your own decision:
Tourney details: $200/player only allowed a 3some. You are not guaranteed a celebrity 4th. If you just want to show up and not play it will cost you $125. At a course that just went bankrupt and cost Dr. J (Julius Errrrving) quite a bit of money.
Management for the tourney is company called: Miller Tyme
Club that is a “sponsor” (see organizer) is open until 3am the night before. Has hosted some good performers’ nights….
Lost in all of this, is the fact that it is on a Sunday morning……in Atlanta…….the Rev. Creflo will not be playing as he has sheep that need flocking. Not to mention that more than a few folks will shy away will all the attention.
All that to say this: it may be cancelled and/or Mike may not make it.
