As it turns out, Reggie Hayward’s return to the Jaguars proved short-lived.
The Jaguars released the veteran defensive end and five other players on Wednesday. Also cut: first-year offensive lineman Cameron Stephenson and four undrafted rookies - punter Robert Malone, cornerback Chris Hawkins, wide receiver Chris McGaha and fullback Ben Stallings.
Hayward, 31, missed last season with a broken shin and re-signed with the team back in April. The former Denver Bronco recorded 17.5 sacks in five years with the Jaguars.
