You made that BS up about the Ravens team not liking Troy Smith. I’m all over the Ravens pages and all I ever heard was good things about him coming from his teammates in BMore. Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs were very public about their support for Troy Smith as the starter and how he was not supposed to loose his job to a so-called injury 2 seasons ago.
There is a recent article on Baltimoreravens.com about who is the most talented player on the squad and several of the players say Troy Smith.
With that said I think Troy Smith would be a great fit for Arizona Cardinals as they run the same offense as Bmore with a little variance in terminology.
One last thing I am a former blacf QB myself and I didn’t appreciate the notion that black men couldn’t think well enough to play QB. I never chose to play the position but was always chosen to play the position. However to all posters on here please keep race out of the conversation. We all know there are people who are still on the racist tip. But let our intellect and actions prove the ignorance of those who live life that way.

@danwhitmer – I said that Troy Smith was not liked in the locker room and unlike you, I do know what I am talking about. I listen to sports radio and belong to at least 2 raven insider websites. Troys only real friends on the team are Jared Gaither and Antwan Barnes. Most of the players on the team find him to be a self promoter and are tired of his antics. His comments about crawling to Cleveland to play were not well received by his teammates. The front office thinks he is a jerkoff and most of his teammates agree. He is the only 5th round pick on the team that managed to talk his way into a radio show which is a joke.
Bottom line is that Troy Smith is a self centered jerkoff. Now maybe Aaron Wilson, Drew Forrestor, Jeremy Conn, Jamison Henesly Nestor, Damon and the others are all lying and don’t know what they are talking about. Or maybe you don’t know what they are talking about. Frankly, I’d put my money on them.
I’d offer to drive Troy to Philly but I’m sure all of his friends on the team will chip in to buy him a Grayhound bus ticket.

Its amazing the Vick is not a starter in the NFL. Looking at is winning record and TOTAL stats his last year as a starter, its amazing he’s not taking every snap form center. Those that disagree are just fantasy nerds that don’t watch the game, just the highlights.
He’s an Amazing player but a complete Knucklehead off the field. Sad.

See, that is where you are wrong, NO ONE cares if the starting QB is a “brotha”.
Mc Nabb was a great QB for the Eagles. Randall Cunningham (a QB that MV couldn’t carry his jock), was another great player & loved in Philly also, even after following Jaworski who Philly fans cannonized. Rodney Peete didn’t have a problem in Philly because he was black, he just sucked.
It’s not about race although it is a waste of time reiterating this to you, YOU want it to be about race. If Kolb goes down, Eagle fans will be thrilled with Troy Smith. Just not an evil, no good ghoulish serial animal torturer & killer, that did it all for kicks.

I have to disagree with the Troy fan whining about how he won’t get a chance in Philly.
First off, he didn’t get a chance in Baltimore.
Secondly, this town LOVES effort guys that give it all and live and die every game. Without affectation. That is why the Lindros’ and McNabbs’ of the world don’t make the connection of guys like…

In Philly, Boston, and NY, a guy like that can become an icon among the local fan base…and live on forever. Not saying it doesn’t happen in other cities, but the fans like that kind of working-class player here.

I love the guy who says all the Ravens players are trash. He must be a Steelers fan! Then again I would rather have players who play like trash ( which the Ravens do not have many of ) then have a team with trashy players who play ok…. Chew on that one
I like Troy Smith ( not smiff ) But in the few opportunities he had here to play he did not lite the world on fire, he did not have good pre-season games and frankly he just did not impress any knoledgeable fans. The only people who are impressed by him ( white or black ) are those who remember what he did in college and think that translates into the Pro game. It does not and I think the Ravens took a risk in drafting him hoping to find lightning in a bottle and failed to do so.
Who ever it was who said that the players in the locker room hate him has NO idea what they are talking about. He is a good locker room guy. Until a few months ago he did not express his frustration from lack of starts, he was not a cancer, has not been in the media and most of the guys in the locker room are friends of his and have said so publicly.
I do not think he will be a good “starter” in the NFL, I would like to be proved wrong because I like the guy. If the Eagles want to get him to clean up the image a little he is a perfect fit and I think he can help them win some games if needed!

Steroid boy – Troy was about to get the starting nod until he got an intestinal flu prior to the season open – Joey F got hot and never gave up the starting job again. Not a seer so don’t have a clue if how he would fared as the starting QB. As a Buckeye fan, I loved Troy Smith’s era for he accomplished a great deal. He overcame a nasty childhood that was very well headed down the same path of Machine Gun Mo Clarett, he won the Heisman, and beat Michigan every time he started against them!!! He was a great college QB at tOSU. Having said that – being a successful QB in college doesn’t mean dick in the NFL. I wish him well and hope he is successful wherever he lands!!!!

If Favre comes back this year, I think the Eagles will go after Sage Rosenfels. Sage fell below Joe Webb in the rotation and the offenses are very similar.

Not the worst move the Eagles could make. That would be letting McNabb go to the Redskins. Second, would be to bring back that fat ass coach and his stupid play calling – “Let’s keep passing the ball all game…I’m so smart, and if you don’t belive me I will eat you”. A funny thing happened when nappybloodshotcrackhead wanted to attempt to bash Kevin Kolb for being 1-1 in 300 yard passing games. He was made to look foolish again. Kolb is 1-1 in 300 yard games. Vick is 1-1 in 300 yard games. With that said, Kolb has 2 starts and 10 games played. Vick has 68 starts and 86 games played.
