Agent says Sidney Rice has a lingering hip injury

nfl_rice.jpgBefore Thursday, neither Vikings receiver Sidney Rice nor anyone close to him had anything to say about Rice having any injury.

After former NFL receiver Cris Carter called out Rice on Thursday for failing to show up for Larry Fitzgerald’s workout session in the Twin Cities, Rice’s agent has opened up about Rice’s health, or more accurately lack therof.

Rosenhaus said on his Twitter page (via Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune) that Rice has “a lingering hip injury that he suffered in the playoffs.”  Rosenhaus also said that surgery isn’t anticipated, and that Rice is “hopeful that he will be fully healthy for the start of the season.”

If surgery ultimately is necessary, folks will want to know why in the hell the injury wasn’t taken care of earlier in the offseason.

Then there’s the possibility that Rice simply needed cover for his decision not to show up for the Fitzgerald workouts, and that his injury is either being exaggerated, embellished, or flat-out fabricated.

But if it’s legit and if Rice ultimately can’t go, maybe Rosenhaus can get the Vikings interested in one of his other clients, who is better known by his initials.

Haha, you never know with Rosenhaus. Can you picture Brett Favre and T.O. as best buds?

Well that’s a better excuse than the old “I’m working out individually with my “trainer” in (insert resort-like vacation destination here).”

Sidney Rice is the latest member of the Vikings malingerers club. #3 behind Boss Favre and AP.

Martin Short as Neil Sussman in “The Big Picture”:
I’m very, very aware… that you are seeing other agents. And I think it’s good that you are. Finally, I mean it’s healthy. But, this is the thing. If you decide to sign with me, you’re gonna get more than an agent. You’re gonna get three people. [Holds up four fingers] You’re gonna get an agent, a mother, a father, a shoulder to cry on, someone who knows this business inside and out. And if anyone ever tries to cross you, I’ll grab them by the balls and squeeze ’til they’re dead.

T.O. and Lord Favre on the same team? Wow.
After a season of that I could see the FANS picking up and moving to LA.

Well Chris Carter is a diva himself. If he is going to criticize Sydney Rice for not showing up, he should criticize 99.9% of the nfl for not showing up and getting better as well.

If there is one QB in the leauge that would be able to put T.O. ego in check and not be intimidated by him in the slightest, it is Favre.
