The Jags and Panthers both made the playoffs their 2nd year in the league, so what’s your point?
The Cardinals won the same amount of games as Oakland from 2000-2009, with 2 playoff appearances to Oakland’s 3. Of the 16 teams that finished below .500 for the decade, only the Bucs and Rams made the playoffs more than Oakland. Coincidentally, they also are the only teams below .500 for the decade that won Super Bowls.

What newspapers or TV shows are you watching?
On ESPN’s 1st take, they have jon ritchie on all the time and they let him talk about the raiders however he wants to. I’ve watched him on tv with my own eyes talk about how playing in the raiders organization was the most stressful time of his life and how he wish he could’ve played for another team.
I also watched the Al davis “projector rant” video in it’s entirety and Mr. Davis DID look old and DID have problems finishing a couple sentences. BSPN portrayed it accurately.
I did not see the full “complete story” Lane Kiffin interview so I can’t speak to the accuracy or inaccuracy of your comments.
Why do you think there are SO MANY BITTER EX-Raiders that speak poorl of the franchise and SO FEW quality, dedicated, satisfied and honored EX-Raiders willing to come out and talk about how awesome their time in a Raiders uniform was?
The truth can’t POSSIBLY be that Mr. Davis is a d!ck and treats people like sh!t, could it?
NOOOO it’s the media’s fault. Or it’s the Marcus Allens fault, or Deangelo Hall’s fault.
You live in such a fairy tale world with your blind allegiance and made up facts regarding the Raiders. I googled “Al Davis helps Andre Rison” and I couldn’t find anything on how he saved Andre Rison from all his court costs and things of that matter.
I would break down the rest of your “rant” but chasing down the real truth and looking up the things that you lied about has already made me late. Maybe after my chemotherapy session I’ll get back on and see if it’s worth it to break your post down and make sure that the truth is being told.
I mean/meant no disrespect, lots of people stick up for their team when they feel like someone is attacking them but please don’t just throw out lies and hope that someone will believe them.
Then again maybe your just like Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan and you’ve told all those lies for such a long period of time, you actually start to believe that it’s the truth and it’s completely pointless to help you see clearly. I hope thats not the case though.

You sir, are a perfect example of my previous rant. If you didn’t care, why are you reading?
And how are the Raiders more inept than:
-the teams that finished behind the Raiders every year last decade except 2006, when Oakland was indeed the worst?
-a franchise that went 0-16?
-franchises that went 1-15?
-all of the teams that didn’t even make it to the Super Bowl or a Conference Championship appearance last decade?
-all of the teams that never won their division, much less 3 times?
-the teams that made the playoffs 3 seasons or less?
-the teams that failed to make the playoffs at all?
The team that nobody cares about is the only losing team that gets more national press than most playoff contenders. Notice how the decade somehow only goes back to 2003 when discussing the Raiders? True, the streak of losing 10 or more games is a record, but most use timelines like 5 or 10 years. 2000-2002 are conveniently forgotten when it comes to ridiculing Oakland.
If they were truly the most inept franchise, they would cease to be relevant like most teams do when they struggle for a few years. The fact that people still care enough to kick them while they are down and perpetuate myths to mix in with their losing proves my point.

Yes, Al Davis has made plenty of mistakes and the Raiders have sucked since 2003, but the fact that they are one of the most recognizable franchises in sports and many in the league and the media have an agenda against them means that you’re going to hear about them a lot more than you would if it were almost any other organization. Not to mention the reaction they get from their fanbase and from the many fans who despise their years of success and the mystique.
The Lions go 0-16 but what team did you hear more about and was mocked more consistently? Why are the Raiders ridiculed as the worst franchise in sports when the team across the bay accomplished less in the last decade? Hell, the NBA team in the same parking lot has accomplished less in their entire existence than the Raiders from 2000-2009.
Why is Robert Gallery a bust despite playing guard at a high level since 2007, but Alex Smith has been on the verge of a breakout year since 2005?
Why did a consensus 1st round talent in DHB, who was raw and needed time to develop and had several teams including the Giants (go search it) ready to trade into the top 15 to take him suddenly become a reach that might not have even been drafted in the first round? Why was he mocked on air by a supposed professional and declared a bust after 1 year, ignoring the pre-draft conclusion that he was talented but would not be ready right off the bat?
Why did barely anyone bat an eye while some even applauded as a team gave up 3 high draft picks to move into the first round and select a raw, unpolished QB who would need time to develop and was regarded as a 2nd-3rd round pick?
Why did nobody mention that Tom Martinez interviewed for the QB coach position and lost out on his chance to be in the NFL to Paul Hackett? Wouldn’t that influence his brilliant claim that the Raiders ruined JaMarcus?
Why were reporters questioning the team’s knowledge about Russell’s issues and stating the Raiders didn’t do anything to help him, despite the team bringing in Hackett last year, plus Hue Jackson and even a babysitter in Eddie Anderson to try and reach him?
Why wasn’t it noted that the team helped Andre Rison with his legal fees when he was in trouble, despite being a Raider for only 1 season?
Or how the team stood by Barrett Robbins when he was first diagnosed as bipolar early in his career and had some problems? Or how they stood by him after the Super Bowl and supported him as he rehabbed and rejoined the team for 9 games in 2003?
Or how the Raiders supported Sebastian Janikowski and even flew in his mother from Poland at one point as he was in danger of facing suspension or worse?
The constant belittling, rumors and lies reported as fact, and inaccurate portrayal of Al Davis as being mentally incompetent actually does damage the team. Every franchise struggles during their existence and the Raiders have been terrible. But virtually no team has received as much national and local negative media coverage as the Raiders.
People still blame the Raiders for the PSL fiasco and won’t support them because of it. Why is that? Because ESPN, Yahoo and several other outlets put the blame on the team, when that is 100% FALSE. Makes it even harder to generate revenue when a struggling team is also having their fans lied to.
It also is hard to generate positive publicity when a new player is falsely reported as not wanting to be with the team, and bitter ex-Raiders like Warren Sapp and DeAngelo Hall are supplying soundbites for NFLN and ESPN. Meanwhile, former Raiders Lincoln Kennedy and Jon Ritchie offer a different view of the team and are virtually ignored outside of a few small blogs or local papers.
Al Davis’s press conference firing Kiffin is edited and altered on ESPN to a 3 minute clip making it seem only about money and JaMarcus Russell and using exaggerating pauses to make Davis seem older and slow.
Kiffin gets an immediate unedited rebuttal, answering prepared questions from Trey Wingo to turn attention away from the fact that Chris Mortensen was using Kiffin as an unnamed source and not checking facts with the team. Basically, helping Kiffin further his agenda while also furthering ESPN’s agenda of getting inside information.
No, the media is not why the Raiders are losing. However, many in the media and the league are doing what they can to keep it that way for as long as possible.

lol, are you serious? EVERY team in the nfl has a hard core group of fans (maybe not jacksonville) that dress up for home games and name their dogs/children after important people in their respected franchise.
and EVERY team in the NFL has a large group of people that hate or extremely dislike them.
Raider fans always need to feel like they’re soooo special and soooo unique. The truth is, the Raiders are a shell of what they once were and it’s a shame. I wish they could get back to a high level of competition (just like I wish the same for my 49ers). I’m well aware of the impact that Mr. Davis has had on the NFL but I wish he would swallow some of that pride and start turning over some of the personnel decisions to other people.
I’m sorry you Raider fans weren’t hugged enough when you were kids but, it’s about time to grow up and stop trying to have everyone give you attention by claiming that everyone is out to get the Raiders and everyone hates Al Davis. Every time that there is a story on regarding the Raiders and their fall from “glory” the people covering the story ALWAYS… ALWAYS give Al Davis an immense amount of respect and sum up how he helped the NFL become what it is today.
Raider fans seem to be paranoid about everything concerning their team. You can’t say 1 thing positive or negative about the team without them getting on soap boxes and claiming that everyone hates them. The fans want so badly to be hated and to be that “black and silver, intimidating, scary black hole, just win baby” team. They’re so not that anymore. Sorry.
Grow up. Start respecting your own tea, for a change instead of “defending” them for no reason. There is nothing to “defend” them against.
