San Diego Chargers fifth-round draft pick Cam Thomas has reportedly signed a four-year contract with the team.
Thomas is a 6-foot-4, 330-pound nose tackle from North Carolina who was viewed as a great value pick when the Chargers were able to select him 146th overall. Some mock drafts had Thomas going as high as the second round.
Thomas was a two-year starter at North Carolina who isn’t a great pass rusher but is strong against the run.
With a good training camp, Thomas could earn the starting nose tackle job in San Diego. The Chargers gave Thomas a vote of confidence when they released nose tackle Ian Scott last month.

Hell yeah! Now we can let the dogs loose and smash some AFC West QBs!
A.J. Smith is really good at putting his ego ahead of what’s best for the franchise, but he’s also really good at drafting. Very nice pick, very nice fit for a team that needed a nose badly, and a good guy to get into camp on time.
I enjoy the stories that Florio doesn’t write so much more. They are full of informations and fact, not his biased opinion.
Cam Thomas had a habit of always being able to position himself well. I’m sure he’ll do fine in San Diego.

Chargers will still suck.
7-9 and 3rd in the AFC west.
Half of UNC’s Defense is slated to be picked in the 1st & 2nd Rounds for 2011. Amazing that Butch Davis couldn’t garner any success in the NFL..lol

Only way they finish 3rd is if the entire organization dies in a plane crash or in some natural SoCal disaster and they cant complete the season.
Even then they’ll still finish ahead of the Raiders.
Smash the QB???? You didn’t read the part where is isn’t a pass rusher???
