ESPN acknowledges Jeremy Green arrest, says he's no longer employed there

When word emerged regarding the arrest of former Browns director of pro personnel and, more recently, ESPN analyst Jeremy Green on charges of possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and child pornography, many of you wondered if ESPN would:  (1) acknowledge the arrest; and (2) continue to employ him.

Though I haven’t watched SportsCenter since the name “LeBron” began to trigger Clockwork Orange-style waves of nausea, ESPN has posted on its website a brief item in which the connection between Green and ESPN is noted.

Per the article, Green no longer is employed by ESPN.  Green, the son of former Vikings and Cardinals coach Dennis Green, remains jailed on $750,000 bond.

Maybe it wasn’t kiddie porn at all. Maybe it was a text from Salisbury. Whoops, that doesn’t make Salisbury look good.

  2. jibfest says: Jul 9, 2010 7:02 PM

This is a crock set up by ESPN, simply to take the stage away from Lebron. I bet Jeremy Green has just been sitting there, looking over his kiddie porn and waiting. Waiting for lebron to settle in and then *BAM*, now who is the star?!?!?

  3. Cincinnasty says: Jul 9, 2010 7:11 PM

PFT’s newest higher once he’s outta jail right?

  4. Ska4Life says: Jul 9, 2010 7:11 PM

When approached for comment, Dennis Green had this to say:
“He is not who I thought he was!”

  5. pervy harvin says: Jul 9, 2010 7:12 PM

I f@cking hate child porn freaks but lets get it right. Denny used to take Jeremy to Lambeau field every year and it’s a sure bet he got molested by the Green Bay inbreds. We must stop this vicious cycle people….

  6. Contra says: Jul 9, 2010 7:12 PM

ESPN also acknowledged that the Vikings are ranked higher than the Packers this year.

  7. digitaldean says: Jul 9, 2010 7:13 PM

Wow, what a trifecta for an arrest. Sad way to flush a decent career on the 4-letter network down the drain.

Maybe they can hire the QB that plays for the Steelers.
I hear he and Green are similar sickos, and it’s clear to everyone that ESPN has no morals, values, or ethics.

maybe that person that is always posting on Steelers stories (DEB) can get Green a job. I hear he has all the great qualities in an athelete that she admires, and fawns over.

Sounds like he was headin’ to a barn dance in Green Bay, except he forgot the Everclear. They won’t even let you into the barn without Everclear, or as they call it…sheep love juice.

While I know the normal way things go on this site is for the retards to try and see who can make the most idiotic joke and while I am not a fan of either Jeremy or his dad, I would hope that some would say a small prayer for his family and his soul – he is obviously troubled and in need of help – making cheap jokes at his expense is not a very rewarding – it is too easy – and too sad…

I want to bust balls, or make a witty retort, but this is just too sad, too disturbing.
You can take drugs, sell drugs, shoot people, kills dogs, any damn thing but child pornography.
    Not even remotely funny.

  36. BonnieD says: Jul 10, 2010 12:37 AM

There are times when the comments on here are so disturbing that I have to leave the site for a while. This is one of those times. Child porn is no joking matter.

  37. this class sucks says: Jul 10, 2010 12:54 AM

If you can’t laugh a child porn what can you laugh at? Jokes aside, people on this site make jokes out of rape, murder, and a host of other atrocities, but as soon as someone makes fun of child porn, than this site becomes “disturbing” and “no joking matter.”
Let’s settle down people, child porn is evil but it isn’t any more evil than rape or murder.

All future enquiries should be directed to the alley at the rear of the building where Mr. Green’s personal belongings have been moved. Just to the right of the refuse disposal elevator. Thank you.

I didn’t say it was on the actual homepage — I meant it wasnt on espn.com/nfl, the main “NFL” page.
I think the main page is too full of LeBron news to have room for any of this lesser news :)

Thanks for the compliment – wish I was Tim Tebow!!! My intent was not to “preach” – just to point out how proud NBC must be to sell the advertising on this site to its clients given such a mature, witty and intelligent group of commenters.

To the guy that spelled “hire” higher, read a book. Pathetic.

  42. giantcatfanhouse says: Jul 10, 2010 9:34 AM

Give the narcotics and drug paraphernalia charges, I would think “PFT’s newest ‘higher’..” is a rather apt play on words.

That’s what you get when you grow up in Minnesota. You live a repressed, stifled, awkward, anti-social life, surrounded by creeps and weirdos, and before you know it…arrested in hotel with some kiddie porn and a big bag of blow.
It’s not even his fault. I blame the Vikings.

    pervy harvin –
Wait, you’re claiming that Green was molested once every year by Green Bay inbreds? That’s actually pretty logical, since you seem to have some experience in that area. Did they tell you that you had a pretty mouth too?
