Last week was an eventful one for Vikings receiver Sidney Rice. First, he faced the Wrath of Cris, when a former Vikings receiver who all he did was catch touchdowns gave Rice a public ripping for not showing up to Larry Fitzgerald’s workout camp.
Right about the same time Cris Carter said that “OTAs and all that stuff are overrated.”
Then, Rice’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, disclosed that the fourth-year wideout has a hip injury, and that Rice is hopeful to be back to 100 percent by the start of the season. Rice then said he’ll be ready to participate in training camp, which suggested he’s already close to 100 percent.
In a Monday live chat on NFL.com, Rice said that his goal is to be “ready for the first regular season game.” He said nothing about being ready to participate in training camp.
If we didn’t know any better, we’d wonder whether Rice is milking the injury in the hopes of squeezing a new contract out of the Vikings.
Then again, we don’t know any better. After all, Rice is a fourth-year player entering the final year of his
current deal.
Oh for Christs sake Florio just stop.
Mike Florio Suspected Of Eating Human Flesh
Posted By Michael David Smith
Mike Florio was seen driving past a McDonald’s Monday night at dinner time without stopping to buy one of their delectable burgers. Why would he do this?
If we didn’t know any better, we’d wonder whether Florio has a basement full of corpses that he dines on each night.
Sidney Rice will never be as good as his father Jerry.
Let’s say it all together bitches….”We are on Viking Football Talk” Ah..life is good when U R the big dog!
Will you please shut the hell up. GOD!
Ready for the first game of the season? You’d think he was learning these half-ass tactics from one of the veterans on the team or something.
I love PFT!
Looks like Favre’s diva attitude toward TC is spreading like wildfire. First AP, Leber, Shiancoe and now Rice? Hell why not just cancel the team in August?
His agent is Drew Rosenhaus, I’m sure he is getting, and will continue to get the best advice from him…just go ask T.O.
He has to get on the field. He only had one good year so far, and I think #4 had a bit to do with it.
I believe this is what is commonly referred to as a schism. First, one player doesn’t want to go to training camp and the next thing you know, there are a few others that feel the same way but they don’t have the luxury of having the head coach picking them up at the airport or wearing a dress color that is one of their favorties.
So what do you do under those circumstances, you pitch a hissy fit and call it other things, like a hometown parade in your honor or some lingering injury, doesn’t matter, just make sure your teammates all know how you feel.
This is what happens when there is a lack of leadership at the top, not only a lack of leadership but outright confusion as to what gender dress code to wear on any given day.
The final outcome is not in doubt, there is a collaspe on the horizon and then sunshine, beautiful sunshine of Southern California where the fans buy tickets instead of KY Jelly and gerbils.

Vikings are the Taco Bell dog…Saints are a pit bull….bitches.
@twizzlystick, I have never laughed so hard as when I read your little satirical story, so hard in fact that I signed up just to post that I thought it was so funny. I love this site, but your “article” is PFT in a nutshell!
JimmySmith, the Vikings will be moving to LA the same day you ride your flying unicorn to Candy Mountain. NO knowledgeable football fan believes the Vikings are going to LA and in fact LA knows the Vikings aren’t going to LA – Ed Roski, the guy who’s building the LA stadium, said like 6 months ago that the league told him the Vikings are not in play for LA and that they had to have a smaller market team.
Almost everybody thinks it’s gonna be Jacksonville, a few people think Jax and the Raider will share the stadium, nobody thinks it will be the Vikings. The only question for the Vikes is whether the new stadium will be in downtown or Anoka County and what kind of tax will help pay for it.
There’s probably a better chance of the Packers being moved than the Vikes since the Packers have been losing money, division titles and everything else there is to lose since they lost Favre.
lmaoooo JimmySmith just left one of the best comments in PFT history
It’s not important for any Vikings to go to camp in August. Mankato is much too hot in August … Maybe just take the luv boat out for a spin in the evenings, rest up during the days … and just pick Favre up in Hattiesburg on the way to New Orleans when they open the season against the defending Super Bowl Champions.

Rosenhaus is poison with wideouts. Look at Javon Walker. One good year and he’s wispering in the kids ear. If it’s a contract thing, it probably has nothing to do with Favre. Lot’s of guys hold out of camp for money, but this kid’s just arriving, he needs to put his time in if he wants to be great.
Same assPacker fans with the same old crap after every Viking story. Well chew on this (and swallow) All the career records that Favre set will go in the history books as set by a VIKING!!!! But I sure Rogers will……..ah never mind. Enjoy fourth place Bitches
……and the excuses already start to mount.
Wow the poor guy (sid rice) is sitting in some lame chat room and gave the most basic, everyday answer that every player gives. Stop reading between the lines so hard.
I ASSUMED that at the VERY LEAST there was a question given to him in the chat about his availability for camp and that he literally answered saying he wasn’t sure or something.
Pathetic attempt to stir the pot.
But it worked.
Here com the PFT Packer trolls.
Dont feed trolls like jimmy smith and bob nelson and maybe they will go away. Like a little kid when you stop giving it attention.

It’s always funny to read the comments of an unknowledgeable and douchey Vikings fan. Is there anything else? My lord….the Packers aren’t losing money, their revenue is down just like it is for every other NFL team. In fact, the Packers rank in the top 1/3 of all NFL teams in terms of revenue and actually have to support the freeloading NFL teams like the Vikings with the revenue sharing, even though they’re in a much smaller market. Adding insult to injury to your stupid comments, the Packers can’t move from Green Bay. It’s impossible. Look it up.
I live in Minneapolis and I don’t know how you could possibly say that it could never happen. If you knew anything about the local politics with regards to a new stadium, you would know nothing is a slam dunk. Based on the comments from most Viking fans, I’m voting my tax dollars for education rather than for a new stadium!
@twizzlystick, I hate most of the crap Florio writes about, but that story you wrote on your first comment is why I can’t stay away from this site. The old lady undoubetdly thinks I’m cheating on her I’m sure, because I’m laughing and now typing on my iPhone at this hour. Well done sir.
Queens won’t even make the playoffs this year. The choke job at the end of the year still haunts this me-first locker room. Throw in a coach who has the balls of a 3 year old and you have an outfit that is obviously troubled. The best so-called RB In the league still playing under his rookie deal? It’s no wonder a guy like Rice and others aren’t happy. There’s a reason some teams aren’t winners and never will be.
@Jimmy Smith
haha
@St. Paul Andy
you’re retarded, just like St. Paul Everyone Else
Hey, look everyone! If you count the Jeremy Green story as a Queens post, Minnesota has 6 of the top 10 on PFT! Good thing the kiddie porn was readily available for Denny’s kid
Pretty sure Florio is just up to his usual tricks (i.e., spinning conspiracy theories to generate clicks), and I love what Sid did last year. That being said, #4 vaulted the following receivers to excellent careers (or in the case of Walker, a fantastic couple of seasons).
Sterling Sharpe
Robert Brooks
Antonio Freeman
Donald Driver
Javon Walker
Greg Jennings
If Sid is playing games, Favre will just move on to the next guy in the rotation. Harvin will produce either way, but if Sid plays games, look for #4 to focus on Berrian if he can stay healthy.
LA Vikings Vs. London Jaguars.
Super Bowl 2015.
When the Jaguars traded David Garrard and a second round draft pick to the Denver Broncos, for QB-turned-CB Tim Tebow, Everyone Laughed. It looked like the Broncos pulled a steal as they needed a QB (Quinn left to do Playgirl, Orton was traded to the Bears for Jay Cutler. Cutler was promptly traded to Detroit for a Ford Mustang after throwing 19 picks in the season opener, and last years starting QB, former coach, Josh McDaniels saw his head blow-up from trying to contain his ego) and a second round pick is a second round pick. No one is laughing now. In last nights championship game, Vikings QB Brett Favre drove the team down the field in the final minutes. On the Jags 25 and down 3 points Favre refused to take the call for a game-tying field goal, and instead lofted a ball high to wheel-chair-bound receiver Sidney Rice. Tebow read it all the way. He stepped in front of Rice, picked off the pass, and ran untouched to the end-zone to put the game out of reach. After this Favre retired only to come-back 3 plays later, and do the exact same thing. This happened 13 time in 2 minutes.
Most pundits will now point to Favre pushing his decision to return to the Vikings all the way to the day before the Super Bowl, as the reason for his 13-int game. Coach Brad Chili-Cinco said; “Brett Favre has earned the right to skip the regular season if he likes. He is a HOF QB. He is soooo great.”
After the game Favre said he was injured after the sixth pick. He said he told the coaching staff but they forced him to play anyway. It is unknown if he will be back next year.
Most people will remember that this exact same thing happened in NFC championship game following the 2009 season, although to a much lesser extent. There Favre through only one game-losing picks against the New Orleans Saints. Older fans will remember the Saints as the franchise that won the Super Bowl in 2010, but never showed up for another game because they were all to busy partying. Commissioner Shaun Rodger’s revoked New Orleans franchise after two years of no shows. He was rumored to have sold all the rights for one giant plate of spaghetti.
Bring the franchise that’s in Jax to Milwaukee to relieve some of the pressure from the 89,000 frustrated Packer fans who can’t get season tickets.
Ready for the first game of the season? You’d think he was learning these half-ass tactics from one of the veterans on the team or something.
**********************************************
No doubt he’s learning all this from that great role model, future HOF’er Brett Favre! LOL. They let that dipshit do whatever he wants, then they wonder why others on the team (Peterson, Rice et al) demonstrate questionable behavior.
They all deserve each other over there…GO BEARS!
The problem is how that team hides everything from the media. They instruct their players to lie. It’s a dishonest organization from the top down.

Sorry to burst your bubble there Andy-boy, but the NFL does not recognize team affliations…only players. This is how it is described;
“Enshrinees do not go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of a certain team. Rather, all of an inductee’s affiliations are listed equally.”
Glad I could help. Go PACK!
Half the fricking posts are from idiot Packer fans.
How pathetic. Nothing new or original either.
No, the pack can’t be moved, but if they continue to lose money, they could be shut down.
Long shot, but i’d love to see it.
That way, you wouldn’t have to worry about the games, you could just jerk yourselves off about those trophies they won back in 39.
I just realized how sad it is that the greatest player in the storied history of the Vikings, is a 41 year old Packer retread that has only played 1 year in Minnesota.
Can’t wait for all the contract-disputing, mal-contents, from Minnesota who don’t got to OTA’s, training camps, and off season condition programs, to show up at the SuperDome for the first game of the season. A game they haven’t prepared for, and face a highly motivated, highly disciplined, highly aggresive, completely unified, Saints team. Can’t wait!!!
Lots of bitter packer fans. I guess i’d be bitter too if I lived in a state where the average chick goes about 245 with a mullet and zubaz.

All you guys go on and on about how Aaron Rodgers isn’t any good because he has not won any “rings,” which is the measuring stick by which players are measured (I guess.) But in the same breath, the means by which teams are measured (trophies,) doesn’t mean anything? Make up your mind instead of choosing when to disagree for the sole sake of disagreeing. Verbal vandalism, that’s all it is.
“I just want it to be ready for the first regular season game,” Rice said, hinting he won’t necessarily practice much in camp.
——————————————-
Huh…I wonder where he would get such an idea? It’s a darn good thing that the Vikings have established and confirmed that their premier players do not have to burden themselves with practice. They should be very healthy for the duration of the soft season they are expecting.
I love how Packer fans come in and invent all these crap angles about the Vikings. It is like they still are living in last year’s preseason “schism” story.
Seriously, our team is tight as hell and everyone backs each other up. It isn’t like the Packers where Woodson throws the o-line under the bus like it ain’t no thing just to bring more attention to their QB. It isn’t like the Packers where the league votes them 3rd worst place to play. Not that Packers who manage to burn the legacy of the greatest player in their history.
Just be happy with what things you guys do have going for yourselves and stop trying to blow our candle out. Vikes are a quality club from a great state and you crybabies just need to accept that.
These Packer fans are just so such blubbery negative babies. Kind of sickening. Why do our rivals have to be such crybabies?
