Moleman, this is Kolb’s “get killed while learning how to play in the NFL as a starter” year.
Every QB goes through it. It’s a hard fact of life that you essentially write of a season to do it.
That is why McNabb is gone, this team is so poor at so many positions it needs a 2 year reload / rebuild. McNabb would never have been able to bring this team much farther than last year, and we were miles away from a B- Cowboy team.
Kolb IS the Eagles season. That and rebuilding the defense. So if Kolb goes down, it doesn’t matter who replaces him, the top 5 reasons for playing the games has gone by wayside.
Heck, bring in Jeff George at that point.
Vick is no long-term solution.

Who does Philly have if Vick is done? However I think he is toast. Do the Eagles have anything up their sleeves? No.

especially when the team flat-out lied earlier this year about the status of former starting quarterback Donovan McNabb.
You are such a jackass. You flip flop so much you have no clue when your contradicting yourself.
Early this year right before and right after the Mcnabb trade you ran stories about how Andy wanted to keep him and how he got over ruled. Then you ran a bunch of other stories about Andy Reid losing his pull with in the organization.
And who was it that said Donovan was going to be the starter this year. o thats right Andy Reid. So how is that flat out lying? Andy thought Mcnabb was going to stay and was fighting for it to happen. So when ANDY answered the question he gave them what he believed was the truth at the time.
It cant be both either you fabricated a story about Andy losing the fight for Mcnabb and his sway with in the team back then or your fabricating a story now about the team lying. Which one is it?

You know your a complete jackass when the Gov’t has placed restrictions on your “daily life”…..but i suppose in due time an excuse will be conjured up, and it will be complete with slavery and the man references……It’s not enough, that he was king of the hill and thru sheer STUPIDITY pissed it all away, it’s everyone else fault he has continually lied, continually has made serious bad decisions……He could have been a man and done the right thing, so many kids looked up to him, he could have simply been admired, but no……We have to deal with the restrictons the Gov’t has put on him, as it’s everyone else’s fault…..Like it or not, Kids who dream, look up to pro athletes, i bet every damn player in the NBA wanted to be the next Jordan, and he never let them down, he did his job, ego aside, and never embarrassed himself……..Vick is a walking embarrassment……

I want to see Vick off the Eagles, but I’m getting a little tired of the BS articles, Florio. All you’re doing is taking what one journalist thinks in Philly and parroting it here — every day. If you don’t have any news to report, why do you bother posting? Certainly this isn’t real content — it’s the same non-story it was a week ago. Unless it is determined that Vick broke probation, and will therefore be punished (see jail time), the Eagles will do absolutely nothing. They aren’t in a hurry to sit around and say they were wrong to even bother signing this douchebag in the first place. You’ve got a lot to learn about the Eagles if you think they are going to admit they were wrong.

The travel restriction only applies to daily life and not his job. He can travel to away games etc.

PHILADELPHIA — No. 5 will return to Philadelphia for a 12th season.
Eagles coach Andy Reid said Donovan McNabb will be the team’s quarterback next season.
Michael Vick’s status remains questionable, however.
Reid sought to squelch speculation about McNabb’s future with one year left on his contract.
“That’s my call,” Reid said Monday when asked who will make the decision to bring McNabb back. “I think he’s a great player. His work over the last 11 years has proven that. I truly believe it’s a team sport; it’s not one guy.”

once the season starts and he’s “locked down” by his team (whether the Eagles or someone else) he’ll be allowed to leave the state for work

Here’s why Vick’s chances don’t look too good:
1. Roger Goodell and Jeff Lurie want an excuse to suspend/cut Vick, given their “zero tolerance” statements when he was reinstated/signed. They are both waiting for the ongoing investigation to unearth something to give them better “cover” to do so.
2. Forget Vick’s bad judgement before the event, conduct during the event, and actions leading up to the shooting. It is his actions beginning the next day that will likely be his undoing (it’s always the “cover up” and not the initial infraction). If he is found to have been lying to the police, NFL or Eagles, or to be part of the “wall of silence” (obstruction of justice) as to who did the shooting, I have to believe he will be suspended/cut, and no other team will take another chance on him. The police say they know who the shooter was. You just know Vick and his posse also know (and it might even be one of them). So if Vick even says “I don’t know”, I doubt the NFL or the Eagles will believe him.
3. From Goodell’s perspective, he just cares about the league’s image. Vick presented an opportunity for the NFL to “rehab” a bad character, but it blew up in his face. Having Vick still run with a crowd that thinks that “getting capped” is the proper response to “cake in the face”, and then adhering to a “code of silence” in dealing with the police, by itself is just not the image the NFL can afford to be associated with.
Unfortunately, there are still too many NFL-ers that think that now they have the $$ to really live the “gangsta lifestyle”, and bring along all the G’s that they grew up with. Sadly, Vick has probably squandered not only his second (last ?) chance, but that of others to follow, who now won’t be given one. Very sad.
